Why the Lord's supper is both a memorial (remembrance) and a meal is because the Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread (Exodus 12) which precedes it was both a remembrance (memorial) and a meal. To understand the Lord's Supper it would help to participate in a Jewish Passover Seder in an authentic Jewish home. This would help one better understand the meaning and significance and ordinance of the Lord's Supper which is the fulfillment of the Passover meal and would in many ways be similar and resemble it because that is how the early Christians would have understood and practiced it and how the Lord and His disciples practiced it when they instituted it. Any thoughts?
