 LAMP OIL

Joh_4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Joh_4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Joh_14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Eph_5:9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

What is it, that is glaring before us in these few verses? It is SPIRIT and TRUTH, and the two are inseparable. To possess one is to possess both. To be lacking in one, is to be lacking in the other.

I want to call your attention to the following text.......

Mat 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
Mat 25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
Mat 25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

First of all, all 10 were virgins, which of course is iconic with purity. We know and understand what a lamp is and it's purpose to light our way through dark times. But what exactly is this "oil", that half of the group had, and the other half did not? Before I answer this question, I want to share with you, Adam Clarke's commentary on 25:1........

Then shall the kingdom of heaven - The state of Jews and professing Christians - the state of the visible Church at the time of the destruction of Jerusalem, and in the day of judgment: for the parable appears to relate to both those periods. And particularly at the time in which Christ shall come to judge the world, it shall appear what kind of reception his Gospel has met with. This parable, or something very like it, is found in the Jewish records: so in a treatise entitled Reshith Chocmah, the beginning of wisdom, we read thus: “Our wise men of blessed memory say, Repent whilst thou hast strength to do it, whilst thy lamp burns, and thy oil is not extinguished; for if thy lamp be gone out, thy oil will profit thee nothing.” Our doctors add, in Medrash: “The holy blessed God said to Israel, My sons, repent whilst the gates of repentance stand open; for I receive a gift at present, but when I shall sit in judgment, in the age to come, I will receive none.” Another parable, mentioned by Kimchi, on Isa_65:13. “Rabbi Yuchanan, the son of Zachai, spoke a parable concerning a king, who invited his servants, but set them no time to come: the prudent and wary among them adorned themselves and, standing at the door of the king’s house, said, Is any thing wanting in the house of the king? (i.e. Is there any work to be done?) But the foolish ones that were among them went away, and working said, When shall the feast be in which there is no labor? Suddenly the king sought out his servants: those who were adorned entered in, and they who were still polluted entered in also. The king was glad when he met the prudent, but he was angry when he met the foolish: he said, Let the prudent sit down and eat - let the others stand and look on.” Rabbi Eliezer said, “Turn to God one day before your death.” His disciples said, “How can a man know the day of his death?” He answered them, “Therefore you should turn to God to-day, perhaps you may die to-morrow; thus every day will be employed in returning.” See Kimchi in Isa_65:13.
Virgins - Denoting the purity of the Christian doctrine and character. In this parable, the bridegroom is generally understood to mean Jesus Christ. The feast, that state of felicity to which he has promised to raise his genuine followers. The wise, or prudent, and foolish virgins, those who truly enjoy, and those who only profess the purity and holiness of his religion. The oil, the grace and salvation of God, or that faith which works by love. The vessel, the heart in which this oil is contained. The lamp, the profession of enjoying the burning and shining light of the Gospel of Christ. Going forth; the whole of their sojourning upon earth. - Adam Clarke (1829)

So what is this "oil" that causes the "lamp" to burn brightly? TRUTH. If you do not possess TRUTH, then your lamp is without oil. Nothing within, to fuel the fire.
There will be not time to acquire TRUTH when the MASTER comes. The time to fill your lamp (vessel) with TRUTH is NOW!
HIS WORD IS TRUTH!!!!

h_8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Joh_8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Free from what? Free from DECEPTION!!!! Deception and SPIRIT cannot co-exist. It is impossible. To attempt to mingle the words of man with the WORD of HAYAH (I AM), is to quench the SPIRIT. The fuel for the fire of the HOLY SPIRIT is TRUTH. TRUTH is printed on the pages of YOUR BIBLE. WHY DON'T YOU READ IT? TRUTH does you know good if it only exists on the printed page. Words printed on a page held in your hand will not fuel your LAMP. You have to ingest them spiritually. You must read them prayerfully. You must draw near and dwell in TRUTH every day.

NOW WATCH THIS. Herein lies the PERIL of life today. When you open your eyes and ears to words that do not come from HIM, you open your heart to that which pollutes and dilutes the TRUTH in whatever measure of it you possess. PERIL. CNN, FOX, MSNBC, FAKE NEWS/FAKE TRUTH. Facebook OPINIONS of "church people". Your lamb may feel heavy, as if it had fuel within. But the fuel, what little there is, is so polluted and diluted, it will not burn. NO SPIRIT within. Only a false claim that you can produce light, because your lamp is heavy. WRONG. Only those vessels who are fueled with TRUTH will be ignited and burn brightly, finding their way to the BRIDEGROOM when HE comes. OIL of the HOLY SPIRIT is TRUTH. How much do you really possess. Considering the weight of importance in TRUE WORSHIP, can you have too much? We shall see.......

Joh_12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

What is this LIGHT? TRUTH!!!

Joh_15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

HIS WORD IS TRUTH! If HIS WORD LIVES IN YOU? Then your lamp cannot be put out.

Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

This radiant GLORY that illuminated all about HIM, is TRUTH. You cannot possess HIS TRUTH apart from HIM. It's not what you carry in a book in your hand. It's what you carry in your HEART. How pure is it? Well, how much deception are you willing to part with? How much are you willing to WASH YOUR MIND with TRUTH? Can you mind be too clean? How clean would you like it to be, WHEN HE COMES?
