 The Holy Scriptures

First some quotes:
Martin Luther: “Here is what the Bible says. My conscience is held captive by the Word of God. I must submit to Scripture, not to man-made traditions..."

John Piper:
"The Bible is the ultimate authority and infallible, not the pastor and not the elders. And it doesn't mean that you believe everything he says without examining it."
Here I see the attributes of a truly humbled, Godly man and Servant of God

Another interesting statement:
The mood of our times is one of rampant individualism, emphasizing what is true “for me,” and that usually means whatever approach to life increases my enjoyment and reduces my pain, suffering, and inconvenience. John S. Feinberg

Some short videos

Rebuke by Paul Washer:

Why do we have this discussion in the first place?
Because the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field that the LORD God had made. (Gen 3v1)

I hope and pray that this will help some to realise the importance of God's written word and test everything like the Bereans. Difficult time are already here and it will only get worse.
Another reason why we need to know God's word is Matth 4v1-11

 Re: The Holy Scriptures

DeoGloria:

Love Paul Washer, but if you're going to turn this excerpt into a back handed reproach upon anyone who has heard God, has had a vision, has prophesied or has been directed of God...you really should reconsider using excerpts to undermine what the scriptures teach.

I realize the importance of God's word, so much so that I believe it where it teaches me to listen to the Spirit, listen to Jesus, listen to God, in order to listen God must speak,

Speaking is not just me reading, its not just me hearing a pastor speak, its not me agreeing with every preacher that cannot bare the Charisma...or else as I said in another post, I am not listening to the word of God I am listening to man.

The whole argument used to undermine the Charisma as well as God's speaking to us as children cuts away at their own foundations.

What is crafty? Using the bible to tell folks not to believe the bible. Using an authoritative sounding preacher (whom I love) and use it against me as though I am after "wild visions", disregarding the instruction of God, following God after my own craftiness.

Instead, find a real instance of someone here 'listening and following their own craftiness or vision' then go after that, but broad brushing the rest of us with vague posts, letting the irreproachable Paul Washer become the final authority instead of scripture is in direct violation to Paul's teaching and my own.
