Errors and Arrogance in Bible prophecy , the difference between actual events and conjecture

There are so many prophets in future bible prophecy what I find so heart breaking is the lack of actually looking at the bible and actual scriptures
With there charts and supposed theories

Or it is concentrating on the wrong parts of the actual prophecies

I do not know how many people have lost faith because they were expecting the rapture and it never came or have not read the scriptures and have listened to bible teachers rather than actually dealing with the book

If I were to tell you about say this future coronavirus maybe ten years ago in exact detail but experiencing it now would be completely different than what someone may have told you about it ten years ago

I have always laughed with the charts as there is not going to be a news flash saying we are now entering the tribulation or a big neon sign.

What I find is the amount of disinformation that is used as bible prophecy

Matt 24
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains

What I find most interesting is that this passage starts of with let no man deceive you in verse 4

It was Keith Daniels sermon at the sermon index conference up in Greenock that you have almost a build up in this passage like a crescendo in music terms or like a snowball picking up snow down a mountain

Things getting worse and worse till Jesus returns

There are so many Christians trying to destroy straw men that alot of Christians don't believe in

It would go along the lines of alot of the church don't believe in X and actually have not proved any sources or showed any research to prove why Christians don't believe in x

As previously working in the Christian bookshop it is easy to see what Christian subjects are trending

I like it when people have primary sources for things that they are quoting

The reason I bought up Matt 24 is that most of the emphasis has been on verse 7 not verse 14 and 15 or even verse 9 where it talks about Christians being afflicted in every nation

I am a post tribulation believer I believe that Jesus will return after the tribulation

The reason is from 2 Thessalonians 2
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, note

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. note

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

This same passage starts with let no man decieve you

I think it was Denny Kensington in one of his sermons said the greatest deception is self deception and I believe we are all decieved in different ways

Paul and Jesus would not say let no man decieve you if people were not going to get decieved

What I hate is someone who believes in the pre tribulation rapture will emphasize all the wrong parts of this passage such as verse one where it talks about the gathering or verse 6 and miss out verse 8 which is a glorious passage in when Jesus returns he will destroy the antichrist

So you have stages in this passage
1. Antichrist is revealed by building temple and by the apostasy in the church verse 3 and 4
2. Antichrist gets beaten by Jesus return

There is no room for the pretrib position in this passage

What I am emphasising is that we tend to be so focused on the smaller signs but miss the larger ones or distracted by different things

Where is the love for the church and for the brethen

i feel one thing is so true because inquitity abounds the love of many has grown cold

i wish god would give me a new love and get rid of inquity in my life and give me a new love

god break are hard hearts

I am post trib also. In my study and interest in eschatology, one thing I have found in many commentators and interpreters is that many pass over and even ignore the ONE CLEAR KEY SIGN Jesus referred to as to the unmistakable signal that the final time of trouble and tribulation has begun.

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains

17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. |

18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.

19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!

20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.

21 For THEN (when you SEE the abomination of desolation) there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the [c]elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

Verse 15 is followed a few verses later by what is described in verse 21 - "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be."

Matthew 24;21 can be perfectly synchronized with Daniel 12:1 - a time of trouble such as the nation has never seen nor ever will again. Jesus in Matthew 24:21 was quoting this scripture from Daniel 12:1 almost verbatim word for word. Also see Jeremiah 30:7.

Yet Jesus gave the abomination of desolation as the key of keys to knowing when the final trouble begins. This event sets it off. Jesus could not have been more plain and clear. He gave us this valuable key. To refer to Daniel on this matter is to obey the words of Jesus. We will know.

Blessings. Don't receive any shaming because you are interested in eschatology. For Christians, many mocked and ridiculed for attempting to understand better, eschatology is undergirded by Jesus' promise that the gates of hell will never prevail against His church.
