Mardi Gras is also known as carnival in which the root meaning is carnal. Mardi Gras has it’s roots in paganism, and when Christianity was made the state religion by Constantine, the Catholic Church allowed the festivals of the unbelievers to be accepted within the church. Mardi Gras is a time of unbridled indulgence of the flesh to be followed by a time of repentance the next day. (Ash Wednesday). It is planned sinning followed by planned repentance, and the Catholic Church endorses these festivals.Reveling is listed in Galatians 5 as one of the works of the flesh. Reveling meaning :1) a revel, carousal a) a nocturnal and riotous procession of half drunken and frolicsome fellows who after supper parade through the streets with torches and music in honour of Bacchus or some other deity, and sing and play before houses of male and female friends; hence used generally of feasts and drinking parties that are protracted till late at night and indulge in revelry. The Church or Ekklesia is a called out assembly of disciples of Jesus Christ, in the world but not of the world, called to be light and salt.

Yes brother, it is very clear to try Christians that we should have ZERO to do this with pagan festival and distance ourselves from it. I only know of a few true brothers that felt led and called to witness with tracts and open air preaching in some situations. I believe MOST will never feel called of God to do such a thing as the immorality is so defiling it would ruin many a brother.

"I believe MOST will never feel called of God to do such a thing as the immorality is so defiling it would ruin many a brother."I remember that as a young Christian I went to New Orleans to witness, but there were so many unclean things there that I was not prepared for what I saw. I do know that some have been called to go into these areas, and God has worked with them in saving sinners out of the darkness. Those that God sends in those places are not intimidated by the darkness, and God knows how to save even the most vile sinner, but we certainly have to be led by the Holy Spirit.
