16th January EVENING CONTEMPLATION TOPIC: FAITHFULNESS TO OUR LIGHT TEXT: 2TIM. 2:2
''And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.''
We are taught so that we can teach; knowledge is a trust, to be thrusted or rolled upon others for their benefit, rule and guide: knowledge makes us debtors--only to be paid by letting others know of it. Proper handling of knowledge consists, amongst other things, in the enthrusting of it to others, who are apt or skillful, to teach others. Knowledge of the truth should incline a man to design method of passing same to others. We must beg God to give us skills in the art of passing down truths to others, this is also one of the sure way of letting in more light; our windows would sure be opened toward Jesusalem, to bring in the knowledge of God, if our doors are frequently opened to the ignorant Babylonians. He who waters, shall be watered; he who refreshes, shall be refreshed: but he who hurds corns, the people shall curse him. Anything that is known and indeed has helped us in our journey through this dying world, puts us under obligatiom to trust and thrust same into the hands of qualified persons that can teach others. We shall give account of our light! Our light shall rise up on that day to either aquit us or condemn us. Sin against light, consists not only in acting in contrast thereto, but also in not letting it out to those who have need of it. What shall we say more to this thing! Labour to make known all that you know; seek all means and opportunity to let out any information that has brought you peace and contentment! Fan to flame the gifts of God in thee! Hide not your fire; bosom not up the coal of His grace! Be generous with the truth, give it unasked for, and more shall come to you. Friends, '...the things that thou hast heard from God among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also _________________ Ojoje Adeyi
