Yes I've noticed all the earthquakes since December. I believe that is to be expected after a 700 km shift 1000m deep at one end. Something else has got to give, until that plate finds its level. (Correct me if I'm wrong, please, someone.)

I'm not questioning what scripture says but the one you chose does not prove the closeness of the second coming, by association with homosexual practice.

You seem to be suggesting that now the existence of homosexuals is more acknowledged by Christians, there is enough information to say 'the end is near'. Is that all there is to it?

Sodom was a ungodly city, in light of that consider this verse;
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
(Romans 1:18)
I believe the order there is important, ungodliness leads to unrighteousness. A godless culture becomes a wicked culture. And as Paul tells us further along in Romans;
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.(Romans 1:26-27)
When a culture turns their backs on God and refuses to give Him the glory He is due, He may choose to give them up to their vile affections. So the homosexuality is only a symptom of a much larger disease. And so it was that God gave us an example of his wrath that is revealed from heaven on ungodliness and unrighteousness of men.

which verses do you have in mind? and I don't mind you wondering about my knowledge of the Word.

I was talkiong with a friend the other day and was wondering, in Rev. 20: 7-10 (In a lump sum we where trying to figure out if indeed these that where living with Christ for a thousand years, which reflects the glorified body, where bearing children that where tempted by Satan. This would influence to us that in Heaven God keeps us together as families, marriges, and children/parents. United as one large family for the purpose of exhalting God in all His glory). We ended the conversation by him saying, "I don't try to dig to deep into Revelations because it will take care of itslef. We, of course, agreed there was nothing wrong with knowing about different mysteries and untold knowledge hidden in Gods word, but He already tells me that if I am to stay faithful in fellowship with Him all of these things will be revealed to me. I want to ask you know brothers and sisters, if no man knows the date, and we are all looking forward to the coming of Christ and practice our faith in urgency of His soon arrival, then what need do we have of trying to use certain sins/signs as a forewarning. I'll have to look it up but many of the churhes in Paul's era used a sign of departing that equals today's common "goodbye" but theirs contained the meaning of "Jesus is coming soon!" As Christians it is our duty to hope and look for His coming very soon. We, however waste so much time in trying to be learned of the scripture and knowledgeable in history so as to be able to cut of people who would argue our opinion/belief in every possible scenario, or we actually believe that this will make us better Christians. Some are called to a higher standard of learning, but I tell you now that my knowledge of the Greek version of the Bible or what my particualar opinion of a verse is. If God needs me to know what exactley He means in Revelations about if we are going to remain in our immediate families then He will show it to me. What I'm trying to get across that all of our knowledge (or yours should I say... I have a high school grad certificate and an Insurance license ;-) so I'm not any where near as educated as some of you seem to be!) is nothing compared to the faithful saint who reads and studies his Bible to the best of his abilites and shares his faith with the lost and lives a life convincing to the sinner and worthy of the title of a Christian God will give him the words and the knowledge required to plant the seeds of the Gospel (which by the way is such 'good-news' that no force of man will ever wipe it clean of the earth!) Friends their is nothing wrong with education but might I remind you that while we debate amongst ourselves as Christians (not picking on just us but all saints) their are people going to Hell TODAY and our concerns of when Christ returns has no more meaning in thier loves... only the loving and caring hand of our Lord Jesus can impact them. God bless you all today and may we all be blessed with the opprotunity to share our faith with a soul today. I love you all. |
