 A Christmas Poem

Christmas Christmas
See my tree
I was blind
But now I'm free

I love birthdays
Just like you
So let's celebrate
Who cares if it's true

Everybody's doin it
Just join in
It might have pagan roots
But it sure ain't sin

Let's go a caroling
How I love to sing
Giving all the glory
To the newborn King

It's been a tradition
For o so long
So how in the world
Could it ever be wrong

O how we anticipate
The 25th of December
Knowing all along
He was really born in September

I can't wait for the season
It's such a great joy
To look under the tree
And get another toy

Boy oh Boy
It's almost here
Look out the window
You'll see the reindeer

Grinch and Scrooge
Are part of it too
Fictional characters
Who don't have a clue

Just like Frosty
They'll melt away
But they'll be back next year
Same time same day

The lights and decorations
Are quite a sight to see
But cannot compare
To eternity

So for now
Let's just take a sleigh ride
Close your mouth
And open wide

There's nothing new
Under the sun
We may not agree
But we'll all have fun

The truth still remains
That Jesus was born
Even if it wasn't
On Christmas mourn
