God's Inheritance And Accepted In The Beloved A Glimpse at Ephesians

God's Inheritance And Accepted In The Beloved
A Glimpse at Ephesians

"The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints" (Ephesians 1:18)

Does it not seem strange that the Infinite God would consider us His inheritance. The blood bought saints of God are God's inheritance.
Ask yourself this Question. Are there any intelligent beings anywhere in this universe who can mean more to God by way of gratitude, adoration, love and fellowship than the ones He has redeemed by the precious blood of His Son?A fellowship of worshiping love that God will inherit in His saints for all eternity.

"Having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. (Ephesians 1:5-6)

ACCEPTED IN THE BELOVED Is that not so much greater than wondering if we are well pleasing to the Lord.
Being accepted by someone in this life for who we are and not for what we do to please them, isn't that what we all desire?
Do we ever find ourselves trying to please God and hoping He will accept us by the things we perform? We have already been accepted and He desires to have fellowship with us now because we already please Him,because we have been accepted in the BELOVED,(CHRIST)

Oh what our Savior has accomplishment for us and who we are in Him.Oh the rich truths that are brought out in this letter to the Ephesians. They are fathomless. In this letter he will make a statement that is so simple, then broaden out into the riches of the heavenlies as he leads us into the eternal bliss of the hope and love and riches and glory and inheritance and power and wisdom and knowledge that we have now and forever. He lifts us up in the heavenlies then ever so gently brings us back down to our lives now and with instruction that makes us long to experience it worked out in our lives.
We are left in awe at the truths displayed that should cause us not only to long for the experiences that await us,but that we can experience a taste of them now.
The depths explored here, the eternality of the Church in the mind of God right through His power operated in Christ when He raised Him from the dead by which power He builds His Church right through to the revealing in the ages to come the exceeding riches of His Grace. We are left with our finite human minds trying to grasp the riches of God's Grace poured out beyond measure.
After being granted the taste of these riches, what else but bowing our knees as Paul and requesting:

"For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."(Ephesians 3:14-19)

To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge. Now that is fathomless isn't it?To know and experience His love for us and that is in this life now right in the middle of all the testings, trials and sufferings that might come our way let alone all the confusion, turmoil and crisis this world might be going through or even the concerns we might have as this country goes through the change of leadership and all that might come as a result of that.
Then in the midst of knowing and experiencing His love we have the blessed hope of His coming for us any moment. Then if we leave this world before He comes we have the assurance of being absent from the body and present with the Lord.Oh why do we let this world system cause us so much anguish, worry and just plain concern for that matter with all the hope and promises we possess that this world can never understand or even come close in providing.

In that blessed hope.Perhaps Today.

Amen!

There is nothing more glorious than for the Holy Spirit to open our eyes that we might see Christ, knowing Him, not just a mental apprehension, but an experiential knowledge of Christ.

The Apostolic prayers in Ephesians are given to us so that we can pray for ourselves and the Church to grow in the knowledge of Christ, knowing Him in His fullness, and being transformed into His image.
