May the Lamb that was Slain Recieve the Reward of His Sufferings

The story is told of an athiest vwho owned am island in the Caribbean. He owned about three thousand slaves. He said that no clergyman or missionary whatever come to this island to share Jesus. Two young men in the Moravian movement heard of this. They're heart cry was this is not ok! This is not ok! These two young men indenture themselves to slavery. They did this to get to the island. They did this to share Jesus with those who were lost in darkness.

On the day when the two young men shackled together sailed off to the island. They raised tgeir arms in chains and shouted to their family and loved ones that they would never see you again. May the lamb that was slain receive the reward of his sufferings! This became the rallying battle cry of the Moravian mission movement. May this become our rallying battle cry as we fulfill the Great Commission.

Below is a video of a young woman who leads out singing this song. It is the song The Lamb.

Re: May the Lamb that was Slain Recieve the Reward of His Sufferings

Thank you for reminding us Bear.
Why were they so different from us, that they had such boldness and were willing to forsake everything?

Here is a possible answer: "When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and recognized that they had been with Jesus. " Acts 4:13

They were "unschooled" - but they "had been with Jesus" instead. To be with Jesus is the key.!

I found a wonderful song quoting the Revelation passage regarding the Lamb that was slain. It is by Julie Meyer. I find it quite moving and worshipful. Enjoy.
