 Our Enemy

“Our enemy [Satan] roams around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.”

We must understand clearly that we have a spiritual enemy that seeks to destroy us. For the earth is a battle field at present; between God, His heavenly host and Satan the usurper and the fallen angels who all rebelled against their creator and sustain-er. Yes it is spiritual, and no we cannot see it with our physical eyes, only our spiritual ones given at the new birth through Christ atonement, and the illumination of the Holy Spirit. Our enemy has caused me much pain that could have been avoided if I would have understood to guard my mind as the holy scriptures command. You need not have as many scars as me, but instead study God's Word thoroughly, thinking often on it and obeying, through the freedom and empowering we have from Christ after our true conversion.

He, Satan works in secret, allowing us to believe it is our thoughts entering into our heads, our flesh which is contrary to God and His ways works along side Him, ever seeking to lead us down a path of destruction. His aims are to put us at war with our spouses, our children, our brethren in Christ, and those lost still in their sins.
Unless we soak ourselves in Gods Word, and fellowship with the brethren, paying attention to godly elders and most importantly the Holy Spirit of God who dwells within us.

Our pilgrimage on this earth until Christ comes back in the clouds will be greatly hindered at the least. If we do not learn how to abide in Christ; the only place we have power against him and the demons.

Our mind is the battle field Satan seeks to enter from. We must keep it in constant submission to God, resist the devils fiery darts, and ever deceptive lies and allow instead the truth of God’s word to illuminate our minds, and feed our spirits. Milk is well for the babe in Christ, but we must continue forward and learn to eat meat as well. Remember brethren God’s Word is our Light; let us allow it to illuminate our spirit through the Holy Spirit...

Thank you -- I bless the Lord for this timely reminder today!

"Therefore gird up the loins of your mind..." 1 Peter 1:13

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind..." Romans 12:2

"...bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." 2 Cor. 10:5

Lord Jesus, please do a new work, a healing work, in the minds and hearts of every single person on this forum...overthrow the works of the enemy in our lives for You are above our greatest failings and o very far above all the power of the adversary.

Praise God!!

Very true, we must be on guard in our minds at all times. Only the Lord is sufficient to be trusted to have constant victory and not give footholds to the enemy.
