| This is not a deep thing | | Well okay...I've been reading the different threads that have been about what could possibly/probably happen in the near future. I guess I was just thinking on it quite a bit until I finally said inside myself, “what do you think Lord?” and just as clear I heard, “I've overcome the world”. In an instant I felt such a calm. I tell you it was like a smile started in my feet and worked its way up to where it was beaming on my face and I began to say, “Yes you did! Yes you did! YES!!! Then I went and got the Word and looked it up. You know that John chapter 16 is something else! I couldn't get past the truth that Jesus was telling His disciples what was getting ready to happen but it was at the end of the chapter where he said:
Joh 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Listen things are going to come to pass because the Word says so but Saints don't forget that Jesus has already overcome the world. Our peace is in Christ. Don't let anybody or anything mess with your peace, love, joy, etc. Don't get distracted. Stay about your Heavenly Father's business. Stay encouraged and encourage others.

| Re: This is not a deep thing | | Dear sister very good word. Very encouraging. For Jesus reminds us to not let our hearts be troubled. For indeed He has overcome the world. For indeed we will overcome the world if Jesus lives in us.

| Re: This is not a deep thing | | Thank you putting the end times in perspective, sister!! This is the word of God: He has overcome the world and if He be in us, no matter what comes, we will overcome as well. Praise His holy name! I love how when we ask, He speaks!
God bless you!
PS: And this is a deep thing!

| Re: | | Jasmine,
Big amen here, too!
No one has the end of their life figured out let alone the end of the world and we are to occupy till He comes, but we can't occupy in the present if we are worried and obsessed with the future.
I know I need more of Jesus and it is going to be the Lord that brings me through whatever the future in this life holds.

| Re: This is not a deep thing | | Amen Jasmine. This is true! Saints must keep a Biblical balance between being able to look at, process, etc. things prophetic both in the Word & through modern day true prophecy, but not be "troubled", or operating in fear, worry, anxiety, etc. There's a BIG difference in "preparing your heart/mind", and living "soberly" & being "watchful unto prayer", "alert", "studying to show thyself approved", "not despising prophecies", etc. & actually fretting, worrying, getting caught up in an anxious & fearful spirit.
Because the potential is there to fall in the error of worry, that doesn't mean I'm to just blissfully totally ignore clear prophetic signs either. Prophecy is given by God to inform, to sober awake to alert status, to wake up, to help stay focused, & even to prepare in certain things ones heart or maybe more specifics in ones life, ministry, walk, etc.
It's the same as just because I know The truth of the book of Romans & elsewhere about God's foreknowledge, predestination & election doesn't keep me from preaching the Gospel to the lost, figuring they will be saved anyways without me if its God's will. Quite the opposite! I am compelled to do my part & scatter seed & let the Lord give the increase as only He can to whomever He wills.
So anything taken to extreme outside of its right Biblical balance/context can be misunderstood/misapplied, but that doesn't mean we stop, but that we teach & caution/explain into a right balance.
Another example is preaching on specific personal sins or exhortations for believers to stop sinning & live more totally for Christ & eternity alone. Some will say that people could be "condemned" by this so avoid it all together. Well, they could. But If we preach/teach with "right scales & balances" & let the Word of God speak for itself & the Holy Spirit convict by His Spirit through the specific applying of the Word on the heart, then we don't have to "throw out the baby with the bath-water". I hope the point in trying to make comes across clearly? God Bless, Jeff |

| Re: | | Amen to both the poster and Jeff Marshall - indeed, a balanced Word is of utmost importance, for there are ditches on both sides of the narrow road.

| Re: | | I appreciate all the responses. I wasn't quite sure if people would understand what I was trying to say.
Well when someone is sharing God's prophetic Word, I find that very comforting because I know in part that's how God loves and cares for us His people but everybody is not in the same place. I have it on good Authority (OT) that God raised up His prophets to warn and prepare His people of what is to come and that God continues to do so. I cherish that and I thank God that He loves us the way He does. I also thank God for His many confirmations. But I do think in the context of prophecy unfolding before us that we are to encourage one another as we see the day approaching. So to me prophecy and encouragement are very compatible. We need both. At least that's how I see it. |
