“My house shall be called a house of prayer.” Isaiah 56:7
Benja woke just as the sky began to tint with light. He rose from his pallet and padded outside in the coolness of the early morning. Sitting cross-legged under a baobab tree, he began his morning prayers. Later, as the sun crept over the nearby mountain, he opened his worn Bible and licked his finger to turn the pages to today’s portion of scripture. It was like this every morning for Benja and the other students at the Send 56 training camp.
Send 56’s goal is for missionaries to complete a two-year theology and missionary training program. They want to send ten thousand native-born missionaries to the 1,000 unreached people groups of Africa. The trainees go to school full time, serve at an orphanage, and on the weekends they are sent forth to preach the gospel in distant villages. They are discipled and mobilized to love Jesus, fulfill the Great Commission, and usher in the return of the Lord.
Since there are so many Muslims in Africa now, they receive special training to understand the Muslim worldview and answer the many questions Muslims have about Christ.


Give God praise and glory for this army of obedient believers taking Jesus to those who don’t yet know Him! Pray for protection, encouragement, and help with the necessities of life, for these harvesters. Pray for a great harvest of African souls.
