 Christians will...

“Where the world despises other members of the Christian family, Christians will love and serve them. If the world does violence to them, Christians will help them and provide them relief. Where the world subjects them to dishonor and insult, Christians will sacrifice their own honor in exchange for their disgrace. Where the world seeks gain, Christians will renounce it; where it exploits, they will let go; where it oppresses, they will stoop down and lift up the oppressed. Where the world denies justice, Christians will practice compassion; where it hides behind lies, they will speak out for those who cannot speak, and testify for the truth. For the sake of brothers or sisters—be they Jew or Greek, slave or free, strong or weak, of noble or common birth—Christians will renounce all community with the world, for they serve the community of the body of Jesus Christ. Being a part of this community, Christians cannot remain hidden from the world. They have been called out of the world and follow Christ.” (Dietrich Bonhoeffer)

Just thought I would share this with some few here. In reading this I find it so encouraging to take note that the words are written as fact...there is a knowing in the family of GOD that as CHRISTIANS we will, in HIM!!
God bless

 Re: Christians will...

Amen MJ, a true saint will do these things because they are acting according to the new nature in them. You wont find the saint calling for wars or torture. This is the light of a dark world...........bro Frank

 Re:

Amen, and I would also add not only will we love our own (Christians), but "Where the world despises other people, Christians will love and serve them", too.

Christians do not oppress others or take sides with the oppressors.

"For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful." (Luke 6:32-36)

If a Christian lives Luke 6:32-36, they risk persecution by the religious system just as Jesus was persecuted.

"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." (Act 10:38)
