 Re: Right Perspective in posts

Karl: Very good post brother. If a discussion forum and our discussion / debate over any issue is only a bully pulpit for our own point of view, then we are missing the point entirely. If having our understanding challenged causes us to become angry or defensive, then we lack understanding. It has been through having my own understanding challenged that I have been forced back to the Word of God and have often had to admit that I was wrong. But this is a GOOD thing as it ultimately leads me further into truth. What good is being right if you are really wrong. Better to further understand the Word of God, even if it means eating a little crow now and then. Thanks brother for the reminder.

 Re:

Hi Travis

Thanks for your encouragement, I have noticed over the years as I share the gospel with people that many times it is less about the conversation and more about my reactions and allowing the holy spirit to work on people. sometimes i was interfering in what the holy spirit was doing because i was too busy having the answers for people and trying to win rather then listening to the person and hearing what God was doing. Jackie Pullinger really has a great understanding of this and talks about it in one of her audio's.

when i was young in the Lord i followed and fell into some really bad christian teachings (which are very popular now)thankfully God in his wisdom led me to a man that showed me the truth in the gospel but if I had been attacked for my knowledge back then it would have crushed me. today i am thankful for all the learning I have had false and truth as it gives me understanding as to where people are coming from and i realize how important it is to rely on the holy spirit as he knows where he is leading people and i don't that is why it is important that we allow people to bring their portion of water to the table. which is also showing how Gods love works.
