 Re:

Julius: What I mean by "getting a wife" is the process by which we initially obtain. To choose. The process of meeting, determining that the person is to be your spouse and eventually coming to the marriage altar.

 Re:

Hey Travis, thanks for the explanation. The Lord brought my wife to me, that is why I was looking for clarification as to what the "process" was.

 Re:

I believe there are some principles that, if followed, will lead to great blessing.

You said that God brought your wife to you. That is the way, I believe, it should happen. A young man should seek to have a strong relationship with God. He should focus on his own training in Godliness as well as in the things that will make him a successful man in the marketplace and in his future family. He should not seek after women. He should not seek after a wife. He should not take part in the dating game. He should view women as his sisters in Christ and should learn to treat them accordingly. He should not become emotionally involved with a woman or women. When the time comes, God will speak to the young man about a particular woman and tell the young man that this woman is to be his wife. The young man can then speak with that woman's father, and they can pursue a courtship with the end game being marriage.

I did NOT follow this pattern. I believe God brought my wife to me. I know He put the two of us together. Yet I did not know any other way to go about the process of obtaining my wife than the "traditional",modern dating game. Praise God we were both believers and were both still virgins on our wedding day, but we definitely did not do things the way we should have done them, and the emotional attachment we both had with others prior to the time we found one another is a source of regret.
