This point is ignored too many times.

This is a public forum that presents the opportunity to question disputable matters or are the moderators the only ones that can present interpretations of the scriptures with no questions being allowed? Why? Does wearing a head covering mean that much?
Acts 15: 29 English Standard Version that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.”
Where is the head covering here?
If you read Greg's original post he said that he did not want any debate and that he was posting for people who were just learning about it.
That is why I am heeding his warning and not saying anything. |

Online! | Re: | | We appreciate brethren respecting this thread to be a safe place for people to ask honest questions and discuss head coverings in a way of seeking truth.
This is another place where there is alot of great content given on this topic: http://www.headcoveringmovement.com
Essentially it was practiced by all saints until the last century so it is good women are seeking this again in the Church. _________________ SI Moderator - Greg Gordon

| Re: | | Why did Paul say this?
But if any man seem to be contentious, WE HAVE NO SUCH CUSTOM, NEITHER THE CHURCHES OF GOD. (1 Cor 11:16)
I think Paul is saying, If they don't agree it's no big deal.
But, I can certainly respect cultures that do this. |

Hi Rev__Enue,
Greg wasn't prohibiting discussion on the topic, only requesting not to do it on this thread which he set up.
This headcovering topic has been brought up with some regularity in the past. Feel free to start a new thread, or participate in some of the older discussions.
We might not agree with every decision of the moderators on this forum. But a lot of times unnecessary conflict can be avoided with some shrewdness and tact. It is about preserving the peace, but it is also about conveying our message in loving and effective ways. Communication is more difficult when others feel threatened and take a defensive posture.
You can also seek clarification or voice dissatisfaction privately first via e-mailing Greg or the forum moderators. I believe there's a biblical basis for this - Matt 18:15-17. I've done this in the past, and I've found Greg to be approachable and courteous in responding to my concerns.

If we notice the context in which this was written, namely just before instructions on observing the Lord's Supper, we should at least be open to look at it closely and see whether it is relevant nor not.
What makes this practice so important to me, is that it underlines the issue of headship, that when properly understood, will safeguard our families against the onslaught of feminism.

It is not there, as well as other practices like prayer, observing the Lord's Supper, fasting, singing etc, that is not there.
Bless you my Brother. _________________ J Kruger
