Luke 11:28 - But He said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it."
Over the past 3 months, I created a new habit in my life. It's something so simple, yet so profound.
When I have some time, I will just listen to the word of God being read, doing nothing else but listening intently. Sometimes NLT, sometimes NASB, even KJV. The TNIV has a very dramatic reading of the scriptures.
Regardless of the translation, listening to the audio of the word of God is extremely liberating. My mind is being renewed day by day. Relearning and learning the ways of God.
Other times, I'll play the audio bible in the background but my heart will be in a mood of prayer, that God will stop me and quicken a scripture. One day was quite strange, I somehow heard the same scripture twice but my player wasn't set to repeat. God has power over technology. :)
For saints that money isn't available to listen to the word of God there are a few free avenues.
1. On Android, iOS, Windows Phone, and Blackberry (99% of all smartphones) is an app called 'Bible'. You can find related links at https://www.bible.com This app was created by LifeChurch.tv (Note: To play the audio, look for the volume icon within the app (NLT, NASB, KJV have audio bibles in the app). Many translations have a free streaming of the bible) 2. There is also family that reads various translations located at http://www.thestreamingbible.com/ 3. The audio New Testament of the KJV translated here at SI. https://www.sermonindex.net/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?cid=995
I encourage you, to make time for the word of God. To listen, to read, however you eat the spiritual truths of God. Let our lives not stop with just listening/reading, as the scripture quoted above says, 'listen and observe'. Let us be hearers AND doers. Hopefully this resource will help saints hear the word of God and in turn bring more fruit for the entire body of Christ. |

| Re: Blessed are those that hear | | Thanks for those links. I've got the Bible App - You Version, on my phone. I dont know if its just me or if anyone else has had problems creating an account and password on their phone with it ? I havent been able to do it the 3 or 4 times I've tried. But its much easier to do it on a computer. It works first time.
I like the fact you can download different versions of Bibles with it and use them off line .

Well, with YouVersion, the idea is that you create one account and you can use that one account across PC/Mac/Android/Blackberry/iOS. For example, if you are logged in, and you stopped reading at John ch. 4. on your mobile device and then you go to your PC, logged in, it should bring up John ch.4 automatically.
Also, when it comes to downloading a version of the Bible, it will only download some translations, of the text only. The App won't download the audio bibles. You must be connected to the Internet to stream the audio bibles.
Plus, I've noticed that when downloading translations, make sure you are logged in. For some reason the app works better when you are logged in.
I hope this helps. |

| Re: | | Iv been doing this for a few years now especially wile plastering at work God blessed me to be able to do bible readings for up to six hours in a day at times ,some times just repeating the same reading like whole letter of Paul's over many ten times in a row,,,I get very jealous to do this type bible study when something happens to my mp player and it breaks ,,
Try prayer first and record you own voice recording of your own personal bible askGod to fill you wit passion when you read and anoint the recording so to speak both the recording of and the listening to scriptures in this way is a great way to mediate on the word of God
