Florida Church Popular for Hosting Nude Spring Break Parties

Life Center Church in Panama City Beach, Florida, March 2015.

A church on the gulf coast of Florida has lost its tax-exempt status after authorities discovered that its building was being used to host nude parties with "the sexiext ladies on the beach" and served as an after-hours nightclub to avid college party-goers visiting the town while on spring break.

Beginning on Feb. 28, the Panama City Church Life Center: A Spiritual Community, run by pastor Markus Bishop, opened its doors to the Spring Break crowd by hosting a week-long event, which has been labeled as "Spring Break Amnesia: The Tabernacle."

According to a schedule for the tabernacle obtained by the Panama City News Herald, events hosted in the church included a "slumber" party with a dress code of pajamas and lingerie, an "anything but clothes" party, a "Mardi Gras" themed party where the schedule asks "what will you do for your beads?" The week-long event also included the "wet and wild" party, a rave-style event, and was capped off with an all-night-long party on Friday.

Brethren,

This is not a joke, we must weep and pray for the Church in America that has fallen and God is allowing judgement and sin to prevail in the church itself. Oh that God would purify His testimony.

David Wilkerson Prophecy 1973

"Worldwide recession caused by economic confusion"
"At most a few more fat flourishing years, and then an economic recession that's going to affect the life style of every wage-earner in the world. The world economists are going to be at loss to explain what's happening. It's going to start in Europe, spread to Japan and finally to the United States."
There will be a move toward a worldwide, unified monetary system. The US dollar will be hit bad and it will take years for it to recover.
The only real security will be in real estate (until a somewhat later stage, at which point this apparent security will also disappear).
"Nature having labor pains"
Environmentalists will come under heavy criticism.
There will be major earthquakes.
There will be a major famine.
Floods, hurricanes and tornadoes will increase in frequency.
"A new kind of cosmic storm appearing as a raging fire in the sky leaving a kind of vapor trail."
"A flood of filth and a baptism of dirt in America"
Topless women will appear on television, followed by full nudity.
Adult, X rated movies will be shown on cable television. Young people will gather at homes to watch this kind of material in groups.
Sex and the occult will be mixed.
There will be an acceptance of homosexuality, and the church will even say that it is a God-given gift.
"Rebellion in the home"
"I see the new number one youth problem in America and the world as hatred towards parents."
"A persecution madness against truly Spirit filled Christians who love Jesus Christ"
There will arise a world church consisting of a union between liberal ecumenical Protestants and the Roman Catholic Church, using Christ in name only.
There will be a hate Christ movement.
There will be a spiritual awakening behind the Iron and Bamboo Curtains.
Others
There will be another wave of riots.
There will be a fall in moral conduct.
There will be a new drug that will be popular with teenagers that will break down resistance and will encourage sexual activity.
Homosexual and lesbian ministers will be ordained and this will be heralded as a new breed of pioneer.
There will be nude dancing in church, but this will never be widespread.
There will be occult practices in churches.

 Re:

Greg,

Thanks for reminding me of Wilkerson's "The Vision." When I first read it, way back when, I accepted it as a word from the Lord but found a few of the prophecies hard to believe:

"There will be nude dancing in church, but this will never be widespread."

"Homosexual and lesbian ministers will be ordained and this will be heralded as a new breed of pioneer."

"There will be an acceptance of homosexuality, and the church will even say that it is a God-given gift."

And now that all these things are happening, it is still hard to believe!

Churches that have adopted the whole emergence/McChurch/seeker-friendly philosophy do not understand that whenever the church tries to reach the world by imitating the world, the world conquers. That is exactly what is happening to them.

For the last few years the media have been bombarding us with the gay rights initiative, and one by one these worldly churches are capitulating to the spirit of the age and consecrating the sin of Sodom. Why? Because they are part of the world system and are inexorably carried along by the currents of the world.

There needs to be a new iteration of the old doctrine of "separation from the world."

How would you suggest this be done? And how would you define "the world"? Many times this has become a source of conflict in a brotherhood.

 Re:

"The whole world lies under the wicked one."

"Love not the world neither the things of the world. If anyone loves the things of the world the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world - the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life - is not of the Father but is of the world."

These verses cause conflict because people focus on what we are supposed to be separated *from* instead of Who we are separated *to*. When the holiness movement lost sight of "Christ and Him crucified" it degenerated to system of regulations about bobbed hair and neckties and playing cards, etc.

I think the new iteration of the old doctrine should go like this: "But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world." [Gal 6:14 KJV]

I am not sure where you are coming from on the issues mentioned here, but some are legitimate...and if one were to understand the prohibition behind it we may not be so harsh.

On the other hand what has happened is that people focused on the rules and neglected a walk with the LORD. This will happen with any ritual commanded by the LORD - even evangelism. A walk with the LORD will be characterized by a totally different lifestyle from that promoted by an ungodly society. Our desires, our interests will be in direct conflict with prevailing thought because we are not citizens of this world but sojourners. Because this is the case some will label you as being legalistic. SIGH
