I feel a acute sense of embarassment as a Christian when I read such things. Maybe it will all get sorted out and not be as bad as it sounds but meanwhile the world will be watching as it gets sorted.

Yes . I agree with you . This is a blot on Christ's glory. Anyone who is greedy for filthy lucre should not be involved in any of the Lord's work even minimally . Its a very serious matter to bring dishonour to the name of Christ. Jesus said those who caused their brother to stumble will be better off having a millstone tied on their neck and thrown into the sea. A scandal like this has the potential to hurt much more than just one one soul
Unfortunately this is the inevitable outcome of their theology - Prosperity/WOF message. We have seen it time and time again. The bible shows that false teaching, greed and sexual immorality always go together and this organisation has seen plenty of all three.Still, a disgrace to the name of Christ, as many non-Christians will see this as a reason to reject our saviour.

It's wonderful news, really. It brings into stark contrast the standards of Jesus and the standards of this (religious) world. One - even a non-believer - can only judge this as corrupt if one has in mind a picture of 'righteousness.'It only says that we need to be careful about where and how we search for 'righteousness.' A honest seeker of the truth will read this and continue to seek God where He can truly be found. . .
1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil, which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
