TBN Execs Threatened Founder's Granddaughter With Gun, Fired Her for Refusing to Skim $100M ...

Brittany Koper (left inset) granddaughter of Trinity Broadcasting Network founder, Paul Crouch Sr., alleged in a lawsuit filed in California on on January 29, 2015 that her uncle, Matthew Crouch (right inset) threatened her with gun in 2011 over misappropriating some 100 million of the organization's charitable asset.

Brittany Koper, a granddaughter of Paul Crouch Sr., founder of Trinity Broadcasting Network, the world's largest Christian network, alleged in a lawsuit filed Thursday that top bosses in the organization threatened her life with a gun and fired her and her husband, Michael, after she refused to illegally funnel some $100 million of charitable assets to their personal accounts.

"The nature of these illegal activities involved the systematic diversion of defendant Trinity Broadcasting's charitable assets through unlawful distributions to defendant Trinity Broadcasting's directors through numerous channels. The magnitude of these unlawful and related financial schemes uncovered by or disclosed to plaintiff Brittany Koper is on the order of $100 million," alleges the lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court Central District of California.

The document lists Trinity Christian Center of Santa Ana, which also does business as Trinity Broadcasting Network; International Christian Broadcasting, which also does business as Heroes Under God; Matthew Crouch, Brittany's uncle; Janice Crouch, TBN's senior vice president, board member and wife of the-late Paul Crouch Sr. who died in 2013; and John Casoria, Brittany's cousin, as defendants.

I feel a acute sense of embarassment as a Christian when I read such things. Maybe it will all get sorted out and not be as bad as it sounds but meanwhile the world will be watching as it gets sorted.

 Re:

Yes . I agree with you . This is a blot on Christ's glory.
Anyone who is greedy for filthy lucre should not be involved in any of the Lord's work even minimally . Its a very serious matter to bring dishonour to the name of Christ. Jesus said those who caused their brother to stumble will be better off having a millstone tied on their neck and thrown into the sea. A scandal like this has the potential to hurt much more than just one one soul

 Re:

Unfortunately this is the inevitable outcome of their theology - Prosperity/WOF message. We have seen it time and time again.

The bible shows that false teaching, greed and sexual immorality always go together and this organisation has seen plenty of all three.

Still, a disgrace to the name of Christ, as many non-Christians will see this as a reason to reject our saviour.

It's wonderful news, really. It brings into stark contrast the standards of Jesus and the standards of this (religious) world.

One - even a non-believer - can only judge this as corrupt if one has in mind a picture of 'righteousness.'

It only says that we need to be careful about where and how we search for 'righteousness.' A honest seeker of the truth will read this and continue to seek God where He can truly be found. . .

1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is the root of all evil, which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
