I have been struggling for a while with just stagnation, for me I don't desire to read scriptures. I know there is a wealth of knowledge in them that are unlimited and wonderful. A part of the issue is I have been super busy with work and school but that really isn't an excuse. Currently I have been reading CS Lewis' The Great Divorce and it has been a great read thus far, but I wish to read the bible the same way I have been reading CS Lewis' works with a freshness and desire. Any advise and prayers would be appreciated. Thanks,Matthew

Just do it. Just pick it up, put everything aside and do it. Soak it in prayer while you do. Soon, you will forget this phase and how it feels. Oh, you will still encounter times when it does not seem to be working, so to speak, but just do it.

G'day Brother Matthew, One of the problems you may be having is that you are reading God's word for "knowledge", instead of just being with Him and being in wonder at Him. My advice would be to read a scripture like the first chapter of Ezekiel quietly with no interruptions, and just be in awe of Him. Meditate on what you are seeing and possibly hearing, and rejoice! You will soon thirst for more.Blessings Steve

I believe that if we want to enjoy the word, we have to be obeying the call of the Lord privately as well.
