 Re: Eternity

Rev.10:6 uses the Gk word Chronos; from Strong's notes, of the 53 times it occurs in the Greek, 33 times it was translated, 'time'(absolute time) and only 6 times as 'season' or 'space' (interval of time)in the KJV.
Rev. 10:6,chronos was translated 'delay' by most modern versions, by implication, and not by literal translation.
But if you read v.7, you see that the 'mystery of God' is revealed.
In order to understand the infinite God, who transcends all time and space, we will need to go outside the bounds of time and space. This is what this passage seems to imply;
although one cannot build a doctrine, based on one passage, we need to be humble to accept that we are treading on unknown territory here.

 Re:

Talking about bounds of time and space:

1 Cor. 15:42
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

1Co 15:43

It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

The space and time as we know it will be different; so is the measurement of time and space.
We as time-bound and space-bound creatures need to understand everything in that context.

This is the main reason we have so many seemingly conflicting theories and doctrines.

Arminianism and Calvinism, is a direct result of this.

'Does prayer change God?' is a question not fully resolved in our mind and our context.
'Pre-lapsarianism' and 'Post-lapsarianism' and the list goes on.
'Did God plan the fall?' or 'Did He plan for the fall?'
In all these, we are trying to constrict God to our frame work of limited space and time.
Only for us humans, we have a 'before' and an 'after', but not for God.

Just came across this verse:

"When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour." Rev. 8:1
