Zuwarah of LibyaThe Zuwarah are one of many groups of Berbers. They live in the far northwest part of Libya on the Mediterranean Sea, and are mainly farmers. They produce barley, corn, wheat, and rye. Chickens, goats, and sheep are also raised. Today, most Berbers refer to themselves as the Imazighen, which means "men of noble origin." The Zuwarah, like other Berbers, are generally bilingual, speaking both Zuara (a dialect of Nafusi) and Arabic. The Zuwarah are almost entirely Muslim.Ministry ObstaclesThere is a great lack of Christian resources available in the Nafusi language. Pray for the funds and workers needed to create resources and deliver them to the people.Outreach IdeasMuch prayer is needed to give the Zuwarah people a hunger to know and serve Jesus Christ. Pray the Lord is now preparing hearts to understand and believe.Pray for the followers of ChristPray for the few Christian believers among the Zuwarah Berbers, that the Lord will be quick to convict of sin, and will teach them to live the Spirit-filled life.Pray for the entire people groupPray for the Lord to remember the ancient prayers of long-dead Berber Christians, as they prayed for their descendants to know and follow Christ.Scripture Focus"Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, Who alone works wonders. And blessed be His glorious name forever; And may the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen, and Amen." Psalm 72:18-19
