 . . .A LAMP DESPISED

...A LAMP DESPISED...
TEXT: JOB 12:5
"He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp
despised in the thought of him that is at ease."

The Lord Jesus and all that He represents appear to be like a LAMP DESPISED. Isaiah says when we shall see Him, there is no beauty in Him to be desired. David described Him as a worm...John tells us that He is like a lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

He died the death of a criminal...despised and rejected by mankind. His philosophies and ideology are so simple that prophets describe them as a stone of stumbling: even John the Baptist, a man that heralded His first coming with infalable proof of His messiahship, got offended at His seemingly complacency.

His teachings and doctrines are way far below the high-sounding, mind-blowing and heart-quaking teachings of man: yet He is the Lamp and light that lights every man that comes into this world. In His light shall all men see the true state of things.

He teaches that he that must have must give...it is in giving that a man receives as contrasted by the notion of the princes of this world who propagate that for man to have, he must learn to save and Hurd away in barns and bank.

This lamp, tells us that the strongest barns and bank are the needy and destitute, where moth and rust cannot invade: for whatever is given to alleviate the need of men translates into a treasure in heaven.

Actually, whatever lives our hands to the needy never leaves our hands and our lives. To give arms is to before armed. Arms deed is an armor indeed!

Moreover, this lamp, despised by man, advocates that to gain is to first lose: he that finds his life shall lose it and whoever loses his life shall find it.

Time and space would fail us to mention the numerous echoes of this lamp. However, in the Bible, we see all that this lamp represents. We may safely say here that the Bible is a lamp, a lamp despised! To many, The Bible is no longer recognised as the final authority. Its contents have become obsolete to many...men look for men's innovations, teachings and a man-made way of reaching God.

But any nation or people that would give head to it as a candle that shines in darkness, would have the day dawn amongst them and the day star rising in their hearts. Where withal shall a man apprehend the hope of his calling?

By what tool would a man find rest for his soul and fit it for the sky? What might occasion the knowledge of whence we came and wither we go? What is accomplished for mankind? What is the length, the hight, the breath and whith of the redemptive package? The Lamp holds the answers!

To all that labour and are heavy laderned, providence and prudence admonish thus: "...despise not this Lamp, the Bible!"
