Seriously? These are the kinds of threads we are allowing on here now? I suppose it is a free world and anyone can talk about anything they want right? But it is such a shame to see this kind of silly talk (including the cell phone threads) on what is otherwise a fine revival based forum:(

I just wanted to ask if I may, why is this thread so upsetting to some? I do understand that there are some who might be tempted to make up a list of words and then hold them up as laws of do's and don't but so far no one has done that, have they? I am only asking because there seems to be some real frustration at this topic and I am confused as to why??

For me personally I find the history of certain words interesting. For instance I had no idea that anyone in the year 1757 even used the word "gosh" I assumed that word wasn't really used until much later around the early 1900's.

As far as words being used to express anger, surprise, or vulgarity I have found for myself that as I prayed and spent more time in JESUS those kinds of words no longer came up. The interesting thing, it wasn't anything to do with the words themselves it was JESUS working in my life and heart to help me deal with the anger I always struggled with. Even now I give thanks to HIM for helping me and continuing to help me overcome the sin in my life in this area.(anger) As with everything I don't think its necessarily about the words we do or don't use so much as it is the heart behind the one speaking.

I believe GOD will lead each of us who is seeking to please HIM in these things and we should walk according to that leading.

Thank you for allowing me to share what the LORD has laid on my heart :)

Next question.... when saying these things were you removed from the presence of God, not blessed, prayers not answered, God withdrew His hand from your life totally?? Yes or no?

I will be honest that I have said worse than gee whiz and yes, it was this week!! Just saying and I know that I love the Lord and that He loves me. You repent, and move on.

People make mistakes and it's threads like this that do not leave room for mistakes that discourage people who are young in the Lord or "insecure" in their walk in the Lord.

This thread, right here, has given me a patience for the pre/post trib threads!!! And I'm just voicing my opinion as well!! Thank you, thank you very much!!!

Thank you for sharing what the LORD has laid on your heart. I agree we stumble, we repent, and we move on. I do think there can be room for growing in HIM and guarding what come out of our mouth but that might be better served in another discussion thread at another time :)

I just wanted to say, I had no idea that a thread like this would be so frustrating and bothersome for others, but now I am seeing that it is so I will not continue posting to it.

My mistake, I thought this thread was started to lay a guilt trip on TMK for using the term "gee whiz" on another thread that had seriously crossed over into "Dark Matter" territory:( If that were the case then this is all very silly, especially for SI...and that's putting it mildly:)

You know we already have many different areas of the site, Miracles That Follow The Plow, Devotional Thoughts,General Topics, News and Current Events Etc. Maybe we could add one more and call it the "Condemnation Zone" for all these kind of threads. When were really feeling joy full, and thankful, for where we are in our walk, we can come into the "Condemnation Zone" to get some prospective from the Pharisees, were we really are in our walk.

I am not sure if your post was directed at anyone person in particular but I just wanted to say to you and to anyone else, if the things I shared in my post caused anyone to stumble, or feel condemnation, then I am truly sorry. It can be difficult when sharing in a forum such as this with others to convey what is on ones heart.

MJ, you know me, I always "TRY" to interject a little humor here on some threads, to help defuse any possible riots. :)

I know serving God is a serious thing, but I can't imagine Jesus never interjecting any humor in some conversations. After all were made in his image, so he must have started the humor, right?
