That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 1.31. Among the many truths which we have come to believe, there is none higher than that of our being "in Christ." This is the position the redeemed of the Lord obtain, according to the teaching of the New Testament. Nothing can be higher than this position, since the forgiveness of sins is in Christ, justification is in Christ, and sanctification is also in Christ. All spiritual blessings are in Christ. Everything is in Him. So that our being placed in Christ is a higher grace than any other we can ever receive. All that God gives to us is in His Son.

It is by the presence of the Spirit within us that our relationship to Jesus is made real,"And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. Jesus said that the day of the coming of the Spirit would be the day of their coming to know union. "In that day" i.e. the day of the Spirit coming, they would know "I am in My Father and you in Me and I in you" and again, "We will come to him and make Our home with him." There is not a more intense phrase to describe our union than "you are in Me and I in you." Your body, your mind and emotions are the home of deity through the presence of the Spirit. The Word of God teaches us that we can test ourselves to know if we are really in the true faith of Jesus Christ. Every believer should know both doctrinally and experientially that they are in Christ, and that Christ lives in them. "Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you-- unless indeed you fail the test?" (2Corinthians 13:5).
