Those who argue for a praeterist position on end times fail to see the prophetic intent of scripture. Their understanding of 2 Tim. 3:16 is all scripture "was" in inspired by God. Not "is " inspired by God.

If everything in a praeterist paradigm is relegated to past historical then you lose the reality of a present prophetic hope. Namely the return of Jesus Christ.

Not for the partial preterist bear.

A partial preterist sees much of OT prophecy and the Olivet discourse as pertaining to the destruction of the temple system in 70 ad. However he sees the 2nd coming as still future.

Why would John write about the Temple destruction, when every believer knew that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ rendered the temple useless? It was now just a building tied to the old covenant--a covenant that no longer applies to us.
