Unreached of the Day: Kampuchea Krom of Cambodia

Kampuchea Krom of Cambodia
There are at least 250,000 Kampuchea Krom (descendants of the original Khmer inhabitants of what is now southern South Vietnam) who have migrated from Vietnam and now live within the borders of Cambodia. Because of linguistic, political, and social factors they are distinct in many ways from the wider Khmer population in Cambodia. Theravada Buddhism is the public veneer of Kampuchea Krom religion, but animistic belief in the spirit world may have more of a hold on their daily lives. The Kampuchea Krom keep an altar outside their homes where they offer food and incense to the spirit world on a daily basis.

Ministry Obstacles
These Buddhist people may not have a full understanding of the reality of sin and their need for a Savior. Altering one's world view is painful and difficult.

Outreach Ideas
The Bible is available, and many language-based resources are available in the language of these people. Workers are needed to take these resources to the people.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the relatively few Christian believers to be accurately taught the ways of Christ; they need qualified teachers.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for this people group to have the opportunity to hear of Christ, in their mother tongue, and in a manner they will both understand and accept. Pray for several opportunities for each individual during their lifetime.

Scripture Focus
"Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed" Acts 17:30-31
