Russia and what that means for US

is anyone watching these events with Russia unfold? Russia is saying this morning that China supports their position in the Ukraine.

i have been thinking about all these things happening now and just can't seem to get past that God is attempting to give us a wake up call to turn to Him.

I am really surprised he has waited this long for the wake-up call. The grace of Christ is sufficient, sufficient to cover our debt, sufficient to transform us, and sufficient to help us, as long as that transformation process takes.

i do think all these things that have been happening, the weather, the economy, wars and rumors of wars are all leading up to something. there are to many believers who are seeing and hearing the same from the Lord for it all to just be the same old news. perhaps God is taking this time to pull the curtain further back in the lives of men and reveal Himself to those who are His. perhaps He is pressing that time is short and the need to be about His Kingdom is great.

i just see these things and think the time for playing games has long since past, we need to be in prayer and being about His Kingdom daily.

 Re:

A question we can ask oursevles: Does God want to see america saved and preserved as a world-power? Is that the purpose of Christ dying on the cross? If America loses its super-power status does that mean that the gospel has failed?

America having political problems or individually us walking in the spirit and preaching the gospel, what is more important?

 Re:

Rainydaygirl,

It is a complicated web and difficult to connect the dots.

Ukraine went bankrupt and Russia bailed them out. (In other words they OWN THEM).

Ukraine is bankrupt again and is turning to the IMF so they can pay Russia off and get them off their back. They have no money in their treasury.

First of all, Eastern Ukraine’s industries are inextricably linked to Russia’s Military Industrial Complex supporting their military bases.

Second, the deputy prime minister just called for the cancellation of Russia’s lease, known as the Kharkiv Agreements. Putin will not allow this to happen. His warm water access to Iran, Syria, and Egypt depends on it. He’s acting fast, catching everyone by surprise as he did in South Ossetia in 2008.

Both houses of Russia’s parliament, The Federation Council, has unanimously (even his political enemies) granted Putin the authority to deploy Russian troops into Crimea where the majority are loyal Russian Orthodox Christians.

The IMF is basically an extension of the Vatican. You can research this yourself.

http://www.indcatholicnews.com/news.php?viewStory=10208

In this link you will see this: "Knowing that the church is solidly behind the forgiveness of debt to the poorest highly indebted countries makes this appointment even more difficult to understand."

This is deception. The RCC is not solidly behind the forgiveness of debt. Via the IMF, they want ownership of all countries. Remember, the Pope believes he is temporal ruler of the earth and over all kings and princes and heads of state. This has been accomplished through bankruptcies, concordats, and bailing nations out of bankruptcy through a third party (IMF).

How this all plays out will be interesting.

I hope it is ok with SI to try to analyze what is going on as it could have global effects. And yes, we all need to be in prayer. There is a very large struggle over Ukraine and the IMF only loots countries and enslaves citizens that become beholden to them. Ukraine has no where to turn but to the Lord Jesus.

 Re:

Greg,

I would say no to that question. God does not want to save America or any nation. He is bringing the merchandisers of men down. The preaching of the Gospel will soon have it's largest opportunity in history and many will be saved.

It is time to lay aside every sin and weight that so easily besets us and get into the "game" (the will of God). If anyone is straying or lukewarm they need to return to their first love, NOW! Awesome days are upon us for the preaching of the Gospel.

Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

i don't think its about saving the USA,i think its about getting people to see the reality of what really matters, living for Jesus. God can use these events to open the eyes of people and perhaps they will turn to Him. time is short and i believe these events happening now are a sign of God moving that is why i said we need to be in prayer for the lost. when we read about these kinds of things happening in the world around us we should be all the more diligent in prayer and sharing the gospel with those the Lord gives us leading to.

 Re:

Wars and rumors of wars always reminds me of the powerful idolatry surrounding nationalist causes. Think about it, most of the Russian soldiers probably feel morally justified invading Ukraine. The priests in the Russian orthodox church would probably baptize the work they are doing for their country, just as our pastors baptize our involvement in most wars, and rally behind whatever cause we are involved in across the globe.

 Re:

the Ukraine is actually a center of evangelical activity The Slavic gospel Association operates there as well as many other evangelical ministries. Some have called the Ukraine the Bible Belt of Eastern Europe.

the Ukraine has been the center of gospel and Bible printing and distribution. There are Bible colleges and seminaries where future pastors and missionaries can train.

There are many active denominational and non denominational evangelical churches better carrying on a gospel witness in the Ukraine and beyond.

Given this understanding this question comes to.mind. Is it possible that Satan would have Russia invade the Ukraine to silence the witness of Jesus Christ?

My thoughts.
