Brave German Woman Rebukes Islam's Lies

SPEYER, Germany -- Islam continues to grow in power and influence across Europe. But at a recent concert in Germany, one Christian woman decided to stand up to it.

"The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace" by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins was supposed to be an interfaith event to bring Christianity and Islam together.

But when the Muslim imam began his call to prayer during the concert, he was interrupted by a small woman in the balcony proclaiming that "Jesus Christ alone is Lord of Germany," and shouting, "I break this curse."

She also invoked the name of Martin Luther and warned the audience that what was happening was "a lie."

The video went viral.

'Brave German Woman'

The mysterious Christian lady became known on the Internet simply as the "brave German woman."

It happened on Nov. 10, 2013 at the Memorial Church of the Reformation in the Rhineland city of Speyer, built to honor Martin Luther.

It isn't just any church. It's a monument to the Protestant Reformation and a memorial to the spiritual transformation of Germany.

It was at this spiritual landmark that a Muslim imam was invited to give the call to prayer. When the brave German woman, whose real name is Heidi Mund, heard about the event, she prayed.

"I was asking Jesus, 'Lord, shall I go there?' So, when I have to drive one and half hours, you know, I think, 'Is it worth it to go or can others go?' So, this is human laziness, yeah?" Mund recalled.

She grabbed her German flag emblazoned with the words "Jesus Christ is Lord" and headed for the concert, still not sure what she would do when she got there.

"Until the imam started with his shouting, I did not really know what to do. I was just prepared for what God wants me to do," she told CBN News.

Then the Muslim call to prayer began, and Heidi said she felt something rising up inside her.

A Holy Anger

"I would call it a holy anger," she recounted. "And then I rose with my flag and I was calling and proclaiming that Jesus Christ is Lord over Germany."

"My purpose was, I broke this curse because [Muslims] say, 'Only Allah is the Lord. He is God, the only God.' And I broke this curse in this church and I broke it over my country," she continued.

And she repeated the words of Martin Luther in 1521 after he refused to recant his faith in scripture alone: "Here I stand. I can do no other" and "Save the church of Martin Luther!"

Video shows another concert-goer trying to calm her by saying, "This is a concert for peace."

Mund can be heard responding in German, "No it's not! Allahu Akbar is what Muslims scream while murdering people! Don't be fooled! Don't be fooled! This is a lie!"

She was thrown out of the church.

"They should have thrown the imam out and not me because I am a believer in Jesus Christ, but he serves another god. This Allah is not the same god. And this is not the truth."

"This 'allahu akbar,' they use it when they kill people," she argued. "This is, for me, worship to an idol, to their god. And when a Muslim calls 'allahu akbar' in a church, that means this church is not a church anymore, it's a mosque."

Church No Place for Imams?

With Mund at the concert was Kamel, who did not give his full name for safety reasons. Before coming to Germany he lived in the Muslim world.

Kamel told CBN News that an imam has no place in a church.

"Islam is one of the reasons for persecution, Muslims have persecuted me. They don´t want me to tell others that Jesus Christ is my Savior."

Also with Mund was Marion, who has also asked that her last name not be included. She belongs to a group calling itself the White Rose, which took the same name as the World War II anti-Nazi resistance group shown in the film "Sophie Scholl: the Final Days."

"Islam is inhuman, the same as in the Nazi time. For me, personally, there is no difference. We want to show Germany and the world that we will not bow down to the slow Islamization of our country," Marion said.

Afraid of Muslims?

Mund said she knows that her first television interview could place her in danger.

"Many people ask me, 'Are you afraid of the Muslims?' And I can only say, 'No, I'm not afraid of them,'" she told CBN News. "I know my God, the living God of the Bible can protect for me for as long as he wants. When my time is over I will go to him."

An evangelist by gifting, Mund grew up an atheist in communist East Germany. But now, as a believer, her burden and her ministry is for the spiritual rebirth of Germany.

"I feel I have to protect my country and my people. I am only a little woman but I feel I have to protect them," she said.

Reviving a Dead Nation?

Some might associate Germany with the Nazis, but Germany was once a base for world missions, sending missionaries to Africa and Korea and to America.

Mund is trusting God for a miracle in what is a very wealthy and, some would say, spiritually dead nation.

"I know nothing is impossible for my God. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing," she said.

"From a human point of view I feel our country is lost. It's already lost. It's done. Because I see so many changes in the country, in every area," she continued. "But I trust God that he has a 'Plan A' and that my country is not lost and that He will reach us and He will come and change the whole situation."

Re: Brave German Woman Rebukes Islam's Lies

Do you mean to tell me that this woman got up and disrupted the Islamic service in Luther's church without getting permission from a man to do so?

I just have one question to those that would rebuke women preachers. Did this little German lady do this thing of her own self, in the flesh, or did she do it in obedience to God by the power of the Holy Spirit?

Its time Christian wake up and start to recognise the vast difference between Christianity and Islam . Between Christ and all other frauds ..Christians must recognise Jesus is Lord and there in no other name under heaven by which men may be saved..

I admire this womans' obedience and willingness to stand up to evil. She is so brave. May she be an example to all of us timid folks.

A few hours ago I opened the Bible to read and it opened to Daniel 3:28:

28 Nebuchadnezzar responded and said, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who put their trust in Him, violating the king’s command, and yielded up their bodies so as not to serve or worship any god except their own God."

This blessed me so. Here was the king complimenting these Hebrews fellows for standing up to him! Imagine that, if you can! Sure I knew it before, but this testimony touched me as never before. It may well be that one's protagonist will yet bless you for standing up to him/her.

The Islamisation of Europe has occurred because the Church has become passive and has catered to the demands of the Islamics. I agree with this Vatican cardinal:

"Vatican cardinal blames Christians over 'Islamisation' of Europe"

"Muslims are conquering Europe because Christians have become too selfish and pagan to defend the spiritual heritage of the continent, a Vatican cardinal said this week.

Miloslav Vlk, who has served as archbishop of Prague since 1991 and was considered as a successor to John Paul II, launched an outspoken attack on Christians living in Europe and accused them of allowing Muslims to "Islamise" the continent.

He warned that Europe would "fall" to Islam if people continued to deny their Christian roots.

In an interview published on his website, Vlk blamed immigration and high birth rates among Muslims for filling "the vacant space created as Europeans systematically empty the Christian content of their lives".

The 77-year-old said: "Europe has denied its Christian roots from which it has risen and which could give it the strength to fend off the danger that it will be conquered by Muslims – which is actually happening gradually. If Europe doesn't change its relation to its own roots, it will be Islamised.

"At the end of the Middle Ages and in the early modern age, Islam failed to conquer Europe with arms. The Christians beat them then. Today, when the fighting is done with spiritual weapons which Europe lacks while Muslims are perfectly armed, the fall of Europe is looming."

"It was Muslims and not Christians, said Vlk, who were shaping the spiritual outlook of Europe."

Amen I believe also the problem in Europe and USA is that we are not making new converts and disciples. Islam is. It is simply not a birth-rate issue in itself.

Please allow me an attempt to bring a little clarity to what we are saying:

No one is saying that a woman cannot proclaim the Gospel. Since the church is not a building but the body of believers, then a woman may speak in a church building. No one is saying that a woman must have a man's permission to obey the Scriptures. That is silly.

This is what I am saying should ideally happen (some may agree or disagree with certain points):

1) A woman cannot be an elder in the church.

2) A woman cannot be in authority over a man in the church.

3) A woman should remain silent (except in the case of prophesying) in the church. If she has any questions, she can ask her husband at home.

4) Women should be reverant in their behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, but teachers of good things, and they should exhort young women love their husbands, love their children, be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, and obedient to their own husbands, so that the Word of God may not be blashphemed.

5) In the context of the church assembling, a woman can teach, but she can teach other women.

6) A woman could be a street preacher, share the gospel with others, speak outside of the assembly, etc. No one would say they couldn't or shouldn't.

This isn't a complete list. And it definitely isn't a spiritual checklist.

For edification's sake. Here is what men should be doing:

1) Men should love their wives and children

2) Men should lay their lives down for their wives and children

3) Men should teach their wives and children to follow the Lord and teach them the Scriptures.

4) Men should enable their wives to fulfill her duties as pertaining to scripture.

5) Men, especially those who seek to be elders, should be blameless as stewards of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, and not greedy for money.

6) Men, especially those who seek to be elders, should be hopitable, lovers of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, and self-controlled.

7) They should hold fast to the faithful word that they may be able, by sound doctrine, to exhort and convict those who contradict sound doctrine.

8) Men should be sober, reverant, temperate and sound in faith, in love, and patience.

9) Men should submit themselves to the authority of Jesus Christ.

10) Men should show themselves as a pattern of good works, and in doctrine show integrity, reverance, incorruptibility, and sound speech that cannot be condemned so that one who is an opponent will be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of them.

11) Men who are under some kind of authority (like a job) should be obedient to their bosses, should be well pleasing in all things. They should not answer back and should not steal. They should show all good fidelity that they may adorn the doctrine of God our savior in all things.

Again, not a complete list, but just some ideas.

Of course as far as character is concerned there is some overlap.

Praise the Lord! Way to go, Sister. What is she supposed to do when a man won't answer the call? Thank God, she did not let doctrine muzzle her. I believe she began to break a curse over that nation. It was Christ in her, living and speaking through her. We now need "brave British women and men" to break the curse over their nation. And Danes, and French, etc, etc, oh yeah and Americans.

All that Jesus Christ wants to do through a women is what a women can do. The sufficiency is of Christ.

I love it when Christ stands up to the "gates of hell". This servant was willing to get out of the way and let Christ show His Church what holy love, boldness and courage is.

Let us all be encouraged by this in our daily walk to let Christ do what He wants to do through us.

There is no sign from this German woman of a Feminist spirit or can I call it a Jezebel spirit that seeks for power and control.

This woman was submitted to the Lord and wanting to do only His will in this situation as can be seen by the following statements that she made: "I was asking Jesus, 'Lord, shall I go there?' So, when I have to drive one and half hours, you know, I think, 'Is it worth it to go or can others go?' So, this is human laziness, yeah?" Mund recalled."

"Until the imam started with his shouting, I did not really know what to do. I was just prepared for what God wants me to do," she told CBN News

Praise God that she obeyed the Lord as the Spirit of God rose up on the inside of her and anointed her with a holy boldness, giving her the words to speak .

Amen, Mike.

It seems that it would be more edifying to recognize where the Spirit of God IS working than try to categorize where He doesn't work. He is full of surprises. Obviously, "zealousness for His house" had eaten up this sister.
