Unreached of the Day: Qassab of Pakistan

Qassab of Pakistan
The community name Qassab in Arabic means to cut. They are a professional Muslim caste of butchers and slaughterers of animals and selling meat. Many are now engaged in business or work as daily-wage laborers. Normally only the husband can divorce his wife, however the wife is also entitled to seek divorce through her parents. The Kasai (or Qassab) has a council known as Jamat, which consists of five chosen members. All types of disputes are referred to the Jamat. They adhere to the Islamic code of conduct with regard to marriage, divorce, remarriage, and the inheritance of property. Their sacred specialist is the Qazi, who performs worship and other rituals. The Kasai people belong to the Sunni sect of Islam. They have faith in Nasir Pir. The Imam and Qazi impart religious teachings and perform the religious rites.

Ministry Obstacles
Spiritual opposition, opposition from men, dullness of hearts and difficulty of access all are obstacles to the advance of the Gospel in Pakistan.

Outreach Ideas
Pray the Jesus will be revealed in dreams and visions as has been reported among Muslims. Pray for messengers who will share deeper about the man from their visions.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There is probably not a single follower of Jesus Christ today among the Qassab community, not in Pakistan or India or Bangladesh or Nepal. Pray the Lord will begin stirring the hearts of many in the community to find a solution for their sin problem, and understand that Jesus is the only solution available.

Pray for the entire people group
Please pray for improving levels of literacy for the Qassab people, especially among the youth.

Scripture Focus
"All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will worship before You." Psalm 22:27
