I have just read an advert in the AOG magozine for an Evangelist called Malvin Banks. The advert makes some huge claims of 1000's being converted etc etc and also healings. Hard to discern from the advert, does anyone know of him?

Melvyn Banks has been around since the 1960's at least. I have not heard of him for some time, but a Google associates him with Mike Reid. Mike Reid is a lulu. I am willing to expound this technical theological phrase but a visit to the websites will probably make it unnecessary.
