| Re: | | In a study of the topics of conversation raised during a typical week, the survey revealed that of the seven topics evaluated, the most popular topic was the content of movies or television programs. Two out of every three adults (66%) talk about that topic during a typical week. The next most popular items of conversation were money, discussed by nearly six out of ten adults (57%), and sports, which is the focus of 55%.
you may find this interesting

| Re: Televison, Do you think it is a good or a bad thing ? | | This quote by athiest Aldous Huxley sums up television and every other modern invention by man:
Quote:
We are living now, not in the delicious intoxication induced by the early successes of science, but in a rather grisly morning-after, when it has become apparent that what triumphant science has done hitherto is to improve the means for achieving unimproved or actually deteriorated ends.
In other words, we've reached improved means to unimproved ends.

| Re: | | My satellite TV service is over with next week.
No more filth, considerably more time for study of the Word, and an extra $50 a month in my pocket to boot.
How can you go wrong?

| Re: | | I did a study to see how many books people read and how much television people watched backing that up by nation statistics I found that the more televison someone watches the less they read. So the more people watch television the less they read there bible. There is a direct link also your brain cannot differentiate between images from the television and memory _________________ Dominic Shiells

| Re: | | I think we could spend to much time on the internet or on this site or shopping or anything can be over indulgent.to just focus on T.V. is narrow, my view about T.V. is that its a tool that can be used for good or bad pretty much like anything I'm not sure about the comment on the brain not able to differntiate between images from TV and memory :-( _________________ derek Eyre

| Re: | | 'far as I'm concerned the ONLY reason there's a TV in our house is for Sesame Street, our Veggie Tales DVDs and the News.
My wife, unfortuantely has other plans for the tube and her shows (reality), while not eddifying, are not so virulently offensive that I feel a need to put my foot down when she turns them on. |
