Philippians 4:8For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]. AMPActs 15 24Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment: 25It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth. 28For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; 29That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. KJVWhat do we think ?

Bad except for the News.

The ability to transmit audio and video signals isn't evil. The great majority who use this technology to promote their own products or ideals however, is entirely and actively anti-Christian in its message and conduct.I don't hate the invention, but (next to the internet) it is the single most powerful tool in the devil's arsenal. My wife and I gave it up years ago, and don't miss it in the least.Dan/\/\/\

Televison, Do you think it is a good or a bad thing ?

Very sticky subject. All i can say is that in Timothy (I think) that the Bible says men will invnet new ways to do evil. Are there redeeming qualities about TV, sure, but keep in mind, TV will never teach you anything that you couldn't learn from a book.

It all depends what you do with it. That technology is not evil in itself, neither is the Internet evil in itself, tho there are people that think it's is the the beast of revelations.I don't own a television, but I do have the internet. I recently put on a family filter on the Internet, www.integrity.com. Television would be safer to view if there was a family filter. To filter out the sexual and homosexual connotations.A couple of Christians told me the other day how they enjoyed the movie "Troy". I like history, I rented and watched it on my computer. I watched 15 minutes of a 3 hour movie, and I just couldn't go any further. Within that short space of time, I viewed nudity, adultery, fornication and the like that I was sorry that I even rented the thing and I began to question my Christian friends integrity. I went to bed that night and I dreamt all kinds of perverse things and lamented in the morning that such things are off my list, even if Christians tell me it's "good".So if any of you are considering watching "Troy" think again, it not worth it.Karl
26Neither shall you bring an abomination (an idol) into your house, lest you become an accursed thing like it; but you shall utterly detest and abhor it, for it is an accursed thing.Amplified26 Don't bring something abhorrent into your house, or you will share in the curse that is on it; instead, you are to detest it completely, loathe it utterly; for it is set apart for destruction.Jewish BibleThis verse is interesting
I agree with Healingwaters. We have to be very careful because some TV programs are beginning to desensitize our morality. It's troubling to hear the language and graphics that is used in our so called "Family Shows/Movies".

I think it was gladiator that stopped me from watching stuff like that
Also we also do not know it but little by little we fall into stuff that if people like George Whitefield or Jonathan Edwards saw what we see now there would be an uproar I do not watch television or movies, but I know that if people like that. I enjoy reading. Are values are bible driven but as it says in John 5 39Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life I remember seeing a film, as a former TV Addict, I realized that during the course of a year slowely, bit by bit things had got worse. Then I decided to god after going to a conference that i would make a covenant that iw ould give up something I loved which was television, later on I made a covenant with my eyes that I would put no unclean thing before them and i have failed but I want to. I have found jesus has blessed me and I wonder why everyone does not do itI also looked something up that is interesting that your brain stores tv as memories and it cannot differentiate between real life and moviesThat is scary Dom :-)
