Mary Jane,I understand this scripture the same as you. I also try to be very sensitive to the convictions of others lest I offend them with my freedom/liberty. In human relationships it is so important one does not give offense. Once you have offended another it will be very difficult to fix because you have destroyed something very important in the heart of that person. I have family members who draw the line in what they allow differently from where I do. But I value my friendship with them higher then I do the exercise of my 'freedom'. In not being in your face with the exercise of my liberty I have in the process gained appreciation and trust from them, something that could never have happened if I had lived for myself only.God bless.

I feel that we need to be careful with this verse. Yes, sometimes our freedoms in Christ can offend others. But the motive is not to keep from offending, but to keep them from stumbling.
