I write a daily devotional. It is normally read by somewhere between 700-900 people per day. Most of those are from our church, friends, etc. However, we have many from overseas countries that connect with us as well. The last 2 weeks I shared daily about "What Am I Not Seeing In Others". It was hugely popular. I think it must touch on a nerve that is common to us all given the feedback and responses. I just wanted to share one or two of them with the SI community in hopes it would encourage, help, bless, and expand our thinking.Be Blessed! One of the days devotions now follows-*********************************************It is so important to accurately discern the reality in those around us. It is often difficult to do and we never get the entire picture. However, being conscious of it and proactively looking will be helpful in accurately understanding those around us and why they are there.Take another look at that person in your life that looks out of place. The person that really has no reason to be there and doesn't exactly fit in. Why are they there? That is how David must have appeared to everyone in the military camp. A teenage shepherd talking to his soldier brothers on the battlefield. All he has is a slingshot.... a piece of leather! However, David is there with a purpose far beyond what any of them can possibly imagine. None of them see it. The king, David's brothers, the military leaders.... they are all blind to what is inside of David and what he is called there to do.In a matter of minutes the giant Goliath will lay dead at David's feet. The victory will be won and David will become a national hero. The only thing standing between insignificance and fame was his enemy.Take another look at those around you who appear to be out of place. Perhaps they are there for reasons you have never considered. Perhaps they are there to bring deliverance to you just as David did Israel.he (David) took his staff in his hand and chose five smooth stones from the brook and put them in his shepherd's pouch. His sling was in his hand, and he approached the Philistine. 1 Samuel 17:40 ESV
