 God's Word In Your Mouth

Our words have a job to do in our lives. Now, I know that there's people that believe that words are insignificant, but let's see what The Bible says. In Matthew 12:36 Jesus said, "But I say to you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement." That word idle means inactive or unemployed. So, our words should be doing something. It would be unjust for God to hold us accountable for our words not doing anything if they don't have the power to do anything. So, obviously God thinks our words should be doing something. So, let's establish our words have power/ability.

In Romans 10:6-8 Paul said, "But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach. Notice where the word should be, in your heart(spirit) and in your mouth. Notice, with the word in your heart and mouth you don't need to call Jesus back because the word will do the work. Notice what God said in Isaiah 55:11, "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." How is his word going to return to him, when you speak it.

Now let's see what the word in your heart and mouth will do, "But the mouth(words) of the upright shall deliver them" (Proverbs 12:6). Proverbs 12:18 says, "But the tongue(words) of the wise is health." That word health is translated medicine, remedy, or cure. Proverbs 14:3 says, "But the lips(words) of the wise shall preserve them." How does those scriptures line up with putting God's word in your mouth, Psalm 37:30,31 says, "The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgement. The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide." There it is again the word in your heart and mouth. The wisdom of God and the law of God is the word of God (Luke 11:49Psalm 147:18-20; Proverbs 3:1). And the word of God is quick(alive) and powerful and able to accomplish whatever it says. So when you line your words up with his words then that power works for you. But, the word of faith has to be in your heart and mouth, they both work together. In 2Corinthians 4:13 it says, "We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak." So, if you believe the word then you should be speaking it. So, it's not just speaking, but also believing. And hold fast to your confession of God's word for he that promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23,36).
