Village Chief Murdered, Pastor Falsely Accused

I write to you with a matter of urgent prayer. Anti-Christian radicals have killed a new believer and are plotting against his pastor.

Waahid was a village chief and priest, responsible for all religious and social matters in his town. When his wife and three children decided to follow Jesus, Waahid's position made him hesitant to join them. However, three months ago, he decided to embrace Christ's love.

The villagers were upset as Waahid began showing kindness to fellow believers, and they were enraged when he announced he would no longer continue his priestly duties. They began plotting to kill him. And on Tuesday night, December 4, they succeeded.

Waahid's death has brought great fear among believers. And the villagers are not finished with their ultimate plan, which is to blame the death of the village chief on local Gospel for Asia pastor Tamonash.

"He is forcing them to become Christians," they declared, "and if anyone is not becoming a Christian, he is beating and even killing them. In this way, he killed the village chief."

The villagers are now trying to persuade the police to lodge a case against Pastor Tamonash, who is understandably concerned for what's to come.

Please pray for:

- Comfort for Waahid's wife and three children.

- Protection for all the believers, and strengthened faith as they trust God to defend them.

- The villagers' words to be recognized as false accusations and the case against Pastor Tamonash to be dropped.

Thank you for lifting up our brothers and sisters before the God of peace and justice.

Yours for the lost,
K.P. Yohannan
