Spending SelfFrom faith flows love and joy in the Lord, and from love a joyful, willing and free mind that serves ones neighbor willingly and takes no account of gratitude or ingratitude, of praise or blame, of gain or loss. For a man does not serve that he may put men under obligations, he does not distinguish between friends and enemies, nor does he anticipate their thankfulness or unthankfulness, but most freely and willingly he spends himself and all that he has, whether he wastes all on the thankless or whether he gains a re-ward. . . . As our Heavenly Father has in Christ freely come to our help, we also ought freely to help our neighbor through our body and its works, and each should become as it were a Christ to the other, that we may be Christs to one another and Christ may be the same in all; that is, that we may be truly Christians. (Martin Luther, 1520)______________Just thought I would share this with some today. Loving our neighbors is not always easy but it is what we are called to live daily. If we really love one another then their should be a willingness to lay down our time and energy in helping and serving. How can I be servant and care for another today as the LORD has called me to...I think it begins with loving them as JESUS did :)God blessmaryjane
