My brothers and sisters, I have just spent the last four weeks obsessively following the 2012 presidential election. I spent hours listening to left and right wing pundits build cases for their prospective candidates, all the while knowing and understanding that God is ultimately in complete control of the outcome of every leader placed in their position.
I was cautiously optimistic that Governor Romney would be able to pull an upset to win his bid for the presidency. If we are even slightly attentive, we can easily see the consistent trending of our society’s departure from godly principles in at least the last century. None of us have been left unscathed from the assault by the enemy of our souls in his effort to disgrace the God of the universe and His Kingdom.
Many may say, “What does a presidential election have to do with satanic assaults?” As I just mentioned, his impact on our nation is very easily seen through the path that we have freely chosen to walk down as a society. None of us are innocent from the reckless abandonment of God’s principals and the disgrace that we have sown against ourselves and our God.
Towards the end of this campaign, I began to becoming increasingly desperate for our county to be a macrocosm of hope for our earth. That we would somehow return to biblical principles, if not a similitude of morality and traditional values. I, like many of you, am thirsty for leadership that shepherds me to Christ. I, like you, desire to live in a community of love and compassion and regard for the type of legacy that we leave behind.
Instead, I was crudely reminded of the path we alone have chosen for ourselves as a nation. We have turned to short-sighted solutions for deep-rooted and long-term problems. I was further discouraged to hear post-election discussions from “conservatives” stating that “as a party we are going to have to slug this out because we are no longer relevant, and if we are no longer relevant we will not win an election.
If we are to interpret this philosophy clearly we can see that post-modernism, liberalism and socialism have taken root in the hearts of those we have elected to represent our worldview to our nation. Very soon we are going to see an even more rapid moral decline in our society as a whole. Not because President Obama has be re-elected for a second term, but because our country has decided what path they want our country to take as a whole, regardless of party affiliation. In other words, our elected officials have now read the mandate from the American people. And that mandate calls for a new definition of morality, a new definition of family, a new definition of family responsibility, a new definition of stewardship; ultimately a new definition of society. This mandate is for an expulsion of biblical godliness and a whole-hearted acceptance of the re-writing of the moral fabric of our nation.
We will soon see both political parties begin to blur the stark God-ordained differences between men and women. We will see a nationwide evaporation of traditional American family replaced by households made up of unwed couples (homosexual and heterosexual) raising illegitimate children from multiple fathers. Increases in teen pregnancy, medicinal and recreational drug use, life threatening diseases, mental and psychological diagnoses and conditions, abortions, low-paying jobs, and personal and national debt will become the status-quo regardless of who we choose to be our elected officials. In addition, we will see marked decreases in church membership in bible-based protestant churches, evangelistic outreaches, parochial school membership and faith-based initiatives. Please remember, this is not a problem of a specific political party, candidate or philosophy. This is a problem deep in the hearts of the citizens of the United States of America. We are the problem. We are the blinded, we are the deceived. We are the confused. We are the lost. We are the problem. We have chosen this path. A path that political parties are now forced to conform to in order to become viable candidates for service to this nation.
To state is clearly, we have collectively expelled God from our nation and His principals for our lives. It is clearer to me now more than ever that we are completely alone, and we are without hope as a society. We have officially become a godless people and we must brace for the consequences. These consequences will not be ushered in because of a Democrat or Republican president, but instead through a hard-hearted people that have chosen to elect representatives to lead them as far away from Christ as possible. Because God’s leadership was no longer convenient or expedient in our estimation we have chosen for ourselves leadership who could better serve our own passions and desires, and who could tickle our ears instead of holding us to the Truth that our country was founded on. The American people have spoken by the millions and all major political parties are going to respond post-haste. Their reaction to this clarion call will not only be swift but also radical. And the outcome will be a nation that is a far cry from its foundation. In fact, there is going to be a complete rejection of our foundation by all political parties to satisfy the cries of the American people. As a country, as a society we have reached the point of no return. Our children will be indoctrinated with a new vision for our country under the guise of love, compassion and unity. The United States of America is no longer the country of our forefathers. It is a new America, a new culture; with a new worldview and a new religion whose god is the flesh.
Harks for the traditional ways and tried and worn paths will fall on deaf ears and will instead serve as reminders of a less cultured age, a pre-cosmopolitan era. Instead we are, as the definition states,”world citizens, who eschew traditional geopolitical divisions, which are derived from national citizenship,” an era that restricted women, minorities and progress and confined logical thought, creativity and expression.
The bible shows throughout history that many times God gives His people over to their own devices; i.e. the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, The Tower of Babel, the wicked society during great flood, the Worship of the Golden Calf, the wandering in the desert, the Babylonian captivity, and ultimately the rejection of Christ by the whole of Israel, those He came to save.
It is my hope that we will turn to prayer as God’s people and begin to repent as individuals, families, churches and communities for the stubbornness that has come to afflict our diseased hearts, if not for our own sakes, then for the sakes of our progeny. May God be merciful to our households for the lust in our eyes, the lust in our flesh and the pride of our selfish lives. Through the times which lay before us, God has constructed an ever narrowing path for the citizens of the United States of America, a path that leads to a single doorway, the doorway of Christ. This may have been His design all along. That we would see the err of our ways, and turn from our faith in mankind and its institutions and governments and systems and instead turn to Christ for our hope for peace, security and life everlasting. May God forgive us for our turning away and may the grace that is only found by faith in Jesus Christ be our one and only hope.

Well written and clear. Very sobering. A time of giving over has come. May The Lord have mercy and raise up many to His Holy Name in every place. The USA may well prove to be a warning to the nations in our time.

I understand your heart in writing this. I have long felt as a nation we were/are being given over to the sin of our hearts but be encouraged that this is not the reality for HIS BRIDE! As HIS CHURCH we are never alone, and as HIS CHURCH we will grow stronger under this kind of coming persecution, those who are HIS will cling to HIM and fight the good fight to enter in that narrow gate. As things unfold I pray my children and grandchildren will see my faith and the faith of true believers around them growing stronger and know that this country is a part of the world and our focus and eyes are meant for KINGDOM business. The US is just one of many nations in this fallen world system, it is as such embracing its master...we are just pilgrims passing through, let us embrace our LORD and KING JESUS as you said and pray that GOD will give us the same strength and determination that our brothers and sisters before us displayed when they entered the lions den!! I am praying with you that many would repent and see their desperate need for JESUS in their lives.

The world will continue on its path but we must take up our cross and know in our hearts that our LORD lives!!

My husband & I were driving to work this morning and listening to the news where they were discussing that the Republicans will eventually have to change their stance in order to be revelant in the future. My husband said things are going to get worse in America now. I said yes the right will merge into the left rapidly and things will grow darker very fast because in order to the right to stay relevant there must be compromise. My heart has been burdened about this very thing. Dreading that our country is bound for the garbage heap like so many before us. I don't know if anyone else on this forum feels this way but over the last few years & even more so in the last weeks I sense a very dark cloud has descended upon this Nation and it has its teeth bared towards Christians. I am more convinced than ever that we are living in the last days. The election didn't have to tell me this. I already knew it. But it seems that this dark cloud has gained more momentum now. Christians we must lay aside everything & anything and pray, fast & seek his face, asking not to be delivered from this present turmoil because apparently he is allowing us to go through it, but pray that he gives us grace and his peace & his strength we will surely need it.

Indeed sister. Many of us on this forum have been talking about this for some time now and advising folks that there is no hope to be found in Washington DC. I also see the end of the evangelical movement who threw their lot behind a cult member. A dark cloud indeed but there is a bright spot. Many Christinas are waking up to the fact that there is no hope in politics and I praise God for that. God is moving amongst His people, it may be small but He is moving and more and more Christians are awakening to the actual reality of a coming storm. I delight to see this awakening for if we stand together and be the counter culture we are supposed to be, we will see an Acts church come forth, not inspite of persecution but because of it. Its time to stop being fearful and to live in the love and the power of God.............bro Frank

I don’t buy into the “we” category. I think one needs to be careful how you use the word “we”. I mean by the grace of God you can leave me out of the “we” category of this writing. I am in this world but I am not of this world. Put me in the category of Noah, Moses, and Jesus Christ my Lord.

Noah listened to God and built an ark to saving of his household and the rest of the word was condemned. Abraham prayed for Lot and God saved him out of Sodom while the rest were destroyed. Moses when he came down from the mountain and saw that the people had corrupted themselves he said “who is on the Lord’s side” and those who were on the Lord’s side were spared while the others were destroyed. Jesus’ mission on this earth is to seek and to save the lost. The true church, while on this earth, are the called out ones who have accepted the Lordship of Jesus Christ. They are in this world but they are not of this world. They are not considered by their Lord to be in the category of the world of the ungodly.

The word “we” can cover yourself and everybody else in the USA, but I just wanted to clarify that there is a remnant “God’s chosen people” who live in the USA but are not part of the “we” that are corrupting themselves. They are following the good shepherd, their Saviors voice, and not the voice of a stranger.

I just wanted to be honest and say I was disappointed over the outcome of the election, except in the case of Judge Roy Moore, congrats Judge.

I had no illusions about Mitt Romney, I couldn't even get my heart around him for president, but I was really voting against our county becoming even more steaped in immorality, and stabbing our ally Israel in the back. Those who curse Israel will be cursed, and those who bless Israel will be blessed. I feel that we are about to enter the cursed side of the page, and that grieves me deeply. For 36 years I have been a friend of Israel and will be till He comes.

I had to lift myself through prayer and praise this morning out of the blues. As I said, not that I wanted Romney, but that I didn't want Obama. However the reason we have what we have is because the people love to have it so, and we will all reap what has been sown, probably real soon. The first thing that struck me on the start-page was a very happy Putin, that concerns me for many reasons. Having said that, we as believers have a covert in the storm that nobody can touch. Even in the face of persecution, which I feel is growing in the USA, we have a strong tower to run into. I am running into it and hope you are as well.

The burden to turn things around is upon the church.(I know the world will not be turned around, but the church needs to change) We are really sad because our lifestyle might change, we like things easy, and same, same. I am speaking about myself here. This administration threatens life as we know it. However if we read our bibles we will have to see that we are on a collision course with the end of the age. We surely can see the sign of His appearing on the horizon. He is coming back for His own. We need to make sure we are ready for that event, and that we take as many with us as we possibly can. It is time to go over old ground, those who were hardened before may just be open now. The fields are white unto harvest. Peoples hearts are failing them for fear of what is coming on the earth. People the world over take truck loads of perscription drugs to dull their fear. We need not be one of them. We have a Hope. We can share that Hope.

It is time friends that we make our calling election sure, that we seek Him whle he can be found. That we re-dedicate our lives 100% to His will and purposes. The bride is making herself ready, God is washing off the filth from the daughters of Zion. We can safely place our lives in His all capable hands. Look up my brothers and sisters, our redemption draweth nigh. I can see the world aligning with bible prophecy, but He has not given us the spirit of fear, but of love, and of power, and of a sound mind. We would see Jesus. He is not off on vacation this morning, He never sleeps nor slumbers. He ever lives to make intercession for us. We must trust Him. He does all things well.
