Wycliffe Bible Translators is a group that people are trained and sent out throughout the world to live among the people and learn their ways and language. They then in turn translate the Bible into the language of the people! Helping them hear the Word of God and the plan of Salvation for the first time Ever!!! This is where You come in.....they need everyone of us to pray for them....for Wisdom to translate correctly, protection from wild animals and sickness, and only if you felt led like I did....link up with a group and help them money wise to be able to live and translate. Also, their is a couple of languages where the Bible is translated and they are raising money to print them and give them out for the first time!! You can give as little as $11.00 to them and help give a bible to a tribe/group member for the FIRST time!!! I love this organization....they Never ask for money or support and they trust God to supply always! Why do I know so much about them? I heard about them from a missionary friend years ago and thought about joining them....but I was too old to join they said...you have to be 30 or below. So I can help here by giving. Here is a link to some of the projects they are working on....clink on any part in blue on the link and read about it or all of them!http://www.wycliffe.org/give/projects/home.aspHere is the link for the $11.00 bible project!http://www.wycliffe.org/cgi-bin/give/project.asp?pnum=PUB-3072And here the online giving form that I use almost every week to give to them (sometimes I just send in a check).http://www.wycliffe.org/cgi-bin/give/project.asp?pnum=PUB-3072Think of the blessings that come when you give to God and his plan to reach all the world!!!!God kept telling me to share this and I kept forgetting.....so now he tells me and I quit everything to come on and tell you. So if you like....pray for them! or give too!God is so good!PJ
Thanks for sharing that PJ, here is another link to a group called Asia Harvest. These folks are also involved in bringing Bibles to those who have never had one in China. Here is a clip from their web site;China Bible Printing Helping Equip China's Christians with God's Word.Current Total: 508,985 Chinese Bibles Printed Cost: US$2.25 per BibleAlthough a limited number of Bibles are now permitted to be printed inside China, they are not enough to meet the need. Because of the tremendous growth rate of the church in China (some say 30,000 new believers each day), there is a serious lack of Bibles. Millions of Christians are still without God's Word. We are partnering with several large house church networks in China in a long-term goal to print Bibles for the church. These Bibles are distributed to all parts of China, equipping the believers and helping add fuel to the fires of revival that are burning throughout the world's largest nation. Each Bible costs just $2.25 to print and deliver. In Christ,Ron

God kept telling me to share this and I kept forgetting.....so now he tells me and I quit everything to come on and tell you. So if you like....pray for them! or give too!

In 2001, I had the huge privilege of preaching in India. I was taken to tribal villages where some met as a church in open fields. Perhaps the pastor had a bible in their own language and maybe one or two others in each church we visited. How can these saints "search the scriptures daily, to see if these things be so Acts 17:11", if there are no scriptures to search. After one of the services, the pastor who was accompanying me and translating for me called this old lady up to the front. She held a dirty old plastic bag on her heart that had been carefully folded. The pastor took the bag from her and opened it. Inside were a few pages of a bible. How she acquired them, God only knows. Tears ran down my cheeks, even as they fill my eyes right now relating this too you. I was so moved in my spirit. "My people perish for lack of knowlege". A bible in Telegu language only costs $2.00US and can be purchased locally in India. We sent the pastor some money with the names of the poople who have given it on small cards the size of business cards. He sent us back pictures of the bibles. They had stapled the cards to the marker ribbon in each bible. Then they gave them all to saints who had never owned a personal copy of God's Word. These saints were asked to pray for the ones who had sent the money in love. I can tell you that one of these tribal saints praying is much different than a saint praying here. These people will pray day and night, hours on end. Such a bargain for only $2.00. Yet so few show the slightest interest in such activity. How did this area get the bible translated into their own language? Wycliffe Bible Translators of course. Who else? Debbie and I went to one of their fund raiser banquets many years ago. They showed us a video and while the video played, Ray Boltz song "Thank You" was played also. When the video was over and the lights turned back up, there was a 8" diameter wet spot on the table in front of my wife from her tears falling on it. I can tell you there were not many dry eyes in the house, beloved, including my own. We are just so complacent with our glutted bellies, and have no concept of what it means to make the kind of sacrafice Bible Translators make. We have trouble setting aside $2.00 for a bible. God help us all. Thanks for starting this thread. I hope many read it and are convicted. If at all possible, do yourself the greatest favor you can. Find some place in this world where poverty abounds, and go on a mission trip there, even if it's only for a week. If this is not possible, then be a part of the blessing of Wycliffe and sew into this worthy field. Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. No amount is too small for God to use. The women who gave two mites was recognized by Jesus as having given more than all the rest. What will you give today? Will you take time to pray?
That we might keep this up on the main page...Am sensing the Lords leading in this whole area that we have missed, not one to say such things lightly. Here's another that came up last night:The Heresy of ChristendomAnd it was far from what might be expected from the title alone. These areas have brought conviction, just out of sheer neglect, in thought, deed and prayer.Jam 1:27 A religion that is pure and stainless in the sight of God the Father is this: to take care of orphans and widows in their suffering, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. We have the latter part emphasized well, what of the former? Time for some soul searching and repentance, mine

...if Christians would live like the bible teaches, India would be converted in one day. What an insight. If we would but live like the bible teaches us to live, we would have no problem bringing the bible to those who have never seen it before, right her in the good old USA. Selah.
