 Latter Rain, Kingdom Now, Dominionism

I have a question regarding the movements in Christianity known as Latter Rain, Kingdom Now, Dominion-ism, New Apostolic Reformation, Five Fold Ministry, and groups that follow these type doctrine. I I grew up in a charismatic church which was open to much of this theology. That said, as I have gotten older and seen more, I have began to study the word more. Are these types of doctrine biblical? Are there still Apostles today in the sense of being appointed by Christ like Paul was? I have family in a church where there presides over them a man who constantly talks about the five fold and claims to be an apostle and prophet. Many have left the church as some of the teachings have become very confusing. The closest thing I can compare them to are preachers like Ian Clayton and Rick Joyner. Does the bible speak about this? Should I be careful with these type preachers?

Good for you!

Some are yes.

Certainly!

He could be, we can't judge him we don't know him.

Depends on why they left. He could be speaking truth and that to them is confusing their belief. Again, we can't judge the situation properly.

Rick Joyner claims to have had many visions and they are questionable, but don't dismiss visions just because some get it all messed up.

The Five Fold ministry is biblical, Kingdom now is biblical, BUT this will generate a huge debate because it's how people see the kingdom coming. Some see it as Spiritual (like me) others see it as both Spiritual and Physical so this topic is up in the air. The other movements are iffy and you should be careful how you hear.

You should be careful about ALL preachers, even the ones you like. We are to test everything. Even Paul would have his congregation seek out the truth of what he was preaching, he would not be offended one iota. Seeking truth meant getting into the word and if any preacher that has the love of God he would want his listeners to do that.

 Re:

hi, you live in a city with many great churches to fit anyones likes with wonderful leadership.(i live there also). bethany is a church i have been associated with for on and off...40 years.i was alive during latter reign and some of these other times and saw miracles that would blow your mind .my old frien ,len ravenhill who used to live in zachary la. ministered with william brannum.i have known of creative miracles to happen where God put items into the body that were previously removed by surgery and investigated by the fbi. the dead were raised.but more important... lives were changed for Christ. not all you hear is worth hearing or see is worth seeing. not all were great but fewer phonies than today. their biggest problem is they got caught up in it and pridefull or were beaten down by satan because they were fighting him on his grounds.jimp

 Re:

Jimp you are so correct about the Latter Rain movement. Many things happened in that and I think your right that pride rose up in some of these men. Great and powerful miracles were done under this umbrella, but it was a movement where they believed that they were the Latter Rain that was to come from bible prophecy and they went on believing in that way and it wasn't because they believed that that things happened, they just believed God and God performed miracles and healing through these men and women. It's not the movement so much, it's what God is doing through a man or men.
