 Re: Problem making friends

We do not know you so it is hard to give you any advice. But do have a few questions to consider.

Have you made it a matter of prayer?

Is the golden rule a part of your mindset in how you treat others?

Who are you wanting to be friends with? Ungodly folks?

Suggest you ask the LORD to bring someone along that you can bless. Then be open to those opportunities. Doing so will go a long way in filling that gap in your heart. It will also change the way in which you view people.

Just a few thoughts that came to me when I read your question.

God bless.

Problem making friends

It would be better to have 2 good friends than 12 friends who cause temptation and troubles in your Christian walk. One can still be a friend a person and not daily spend time with them therefore not being influenced by their behaviour.

Following Christ alone for a season even can be profitable also when friends are hindering us with our walks with Him. This poem encouraged me as a young man being 18 when I read and memorized it:

Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken by H.F. Lyte

1. Jesus, I my cross have taken,
All to leave and follow Thee.
Destitute, despised, forsaken,
Thou from hence my all shall be.
Perish every fond ambition,
All I’ve sought or hoped or known.
Yet how rich is my condition!
God and heaven are still my own.

2. Let the world despise and leave me,
They have left my Savior, too.
Human hearts and looks deceive me;
Thou art not, like them, untrue.
O while Thou dost smile upon me,
God of wisdom, love, and might,
Foes may hate and friends disown me,
Show Thy face and all is bright.

This is a good modern song rendition of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zkz5vreZ65U

Bless you my friend.
