Reading the bible this moring I came across something that just stuck with me. Isaiah 1:16-17 Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek Justice, reprove the ruthless, defend the Orphan, Plead for the widow. This list is made up of calls to action, one is a call to Holiness that Christ provides through His sacrifice, the other type of action is a byproduct of Holiness of an action of Love. Holiness and Love are actions, notice who the actions are towards, those that will benefit you but where you benefit very little. So many ministries will "lead a helping hand" with strings attached "Come to our church" "Give us recognition!" "Oh I can use this as a tax write off". But this is not the way of the Bible or the way of Christ, He gave everything with absolutely no benefit to Himself. This is Love to give without hopes of a return.
