I would like to ask if anyone has any testimonies in their own life or in the lives of people they know about what Andrew Murray called "absolute surrender."I am hoping to be encouraged and edified, and grow in the knowledge of how God works.
Yes, in my experience it was important to realize and continually believe that God accepted my consecration on a personal level, it was easy to know and believe that God accepts a true consecration of the believer, but I had to believe He accepted mine. Especially when stumblings happen, we tend to think He hasn't, but really it was just that we didn't cling closely enoigh to Christ which is normal and easy to do in the beginning, but God does show Himself true to His promise. As far as the book by Rev. Murray, it was truly a book of the highest spiritual value. I read it, and applied it prayerfully about 5 years ago subsequently to his book "Humility". Those 2 coupled together were a blessing.I would also recommend for encouragement a sermon on this site by Ray Stedman called "False Consecration". Don't be alarmed by the title, it is very encouraging concerning a continual walk in the Spirit after making an absolute surrender.May the Lord bless you!Rich
