The name of the LORD is a strong tower - a strong, tall building designed to withstand attack - for the people of God. It is a refuge, a place of complete safety.

The power of the Lord, which is unlimited, is in the name of Jesus. So, the name of the Lord may be taken for the Lord himself.

The name is sufficient for the protection of the people of God in case of the greatest dangers. In times of trouble, the children of God run into the tower of the name and finds safety. In that name, the people of God may take rest when they have run out of strength, courage, patience, or endurance.

In the strong tower of the name of Jesus those who trust in him can take sanctuary when they are pursued. There, they are lifted up above their enemies and fortified against the evil ones.
