Acts 9:9

I have heard these types of fast's referred to as an "absolute fast." You might try looking those terms up to find some further information if you haven't already.

My personal thought is that you have to be in pretty dire straights, as was Saul, to take such an extreme measure for loosening a bond.

Sentinel, that scripture is very helpful. Thank you! At this point I would be content to go on a water only fast. I am feeling led to do it soon. It's similar to the urgency I have to leave for foreign missions. I want to see God glorified more in my life! More than ever. There is so much sin in my life that needs to be mortified. Prayer and fasting will be the foundation of that.

Without supernatural intervention, you can go about 3 days without water before you die.
