I have a Christian brother with lots of health problems who is losing his health insurance. Does anyone know of any Christian insurance co-op or anything? He is not eligible forMedicare or Medicaid apparently, even though disabled, because he gets a pension. I know there are lots of other Christians--and people in general-- also who can't afford insurance. Any useful advice would be appreciated.
Ok, no one has anything. Anyone want to share their own insurance problems then? I know he is not the only one.Anyone want to comment on the ObamaCare bill and what is going to happen if that survives this summer? Will tons of people be thrown into jail because they cannot afford either insurance or the fines? How will people on minimum wage afford even the government option when my invalid friend was told he would have to pay nearly $800 per month for the current government option??
I do believe their are programs to cover people such as the person you describe. You may have to do some internet searches. Also check with your states human services. For sure venues of help must exist. Just some prayerful searches may be needed. Will keep you in prayer.
My son Daniel has cerebral palsy and other things wrong with his body and mind. I thank God that I live in England. If I can be of any help financially to your friend and our brother then I will gladly send him some money. E-mail me privately.[email protected]Andrew M R Kelly

Wow, thank you dear amrkelly for that generous offer buthe would need help on a continuing basis and insurance is so very expensive. Plus, i know he would refuse such a handout. Please be very careful about making such a request on here and giving out your email address, as someone reading it could take advantage and pretend to be me and try to manipulate $$ from you. Your generous spirit is appreciated nontheless. : )Thanx to the other repliers also, but yes he has been there done that in terms of social services, etc. They have all kind of petty rules. I'm sure things will work out in the end. I think he has to wait 2 years to get Medicare due to some petty rule, but once on medicare then he can get medicaid. But he has so many medications and health problems right now is the problem. Anyway, the good thing is that he is no longer in despair about that, thankfully. He really needs to get off the medications (it's called polypharmacy and most seniors are a "victim" of it today)but he just can't seem to.
