| Re: Spend an hour with Sampaguita - | | Thank you JIG,
This is wonderfully heartfelt expressive singing. When rendered with such tender affection and worshipful sincerity, these hymns are unequaled in their ability to draw us back to the simplicity and beauty of Jesus.
You're a blessing Sampaguita!

Amen, Brother Mike. This morning I needed to hear my favorite hymn so I scoured youtube and couldn't believe of all those that sang that hymn in my Search, our Sister Sampaquita was on page 2.
Yes, I had to grab the tissues. Her sincerity was so tangible. A ministry of song. Doesn't seem she's cutting any CDs to make anything off of her ministry neither. Surprising in the music industry.
I never knew that youtube has "autoplay" neither. I meant to add that to this thread. When you pick a song from the link above, it comes up at the bottom, like a slideshow and the songs will just play, one after another. I spent literally hours listening to her. Yes, and wiping the Holy Ghost tears. Praise GOD!
I was looking for a youtube that would sing all 5 stanzas of my favorite hymn. I did find one. It was a choir with an organ - which I also like - but very grateful I kept searching. GOD Bless our dear Sister.
Oh, and also meant to post that she sings many of those hymns and more in Spanish - in case anyone didn't see that there's a Spanish list the same as the link above.
GOD Bless you, Mike, for seeing her heart.
Here's the hymn that I was searching for - it's gotten me through more than I can even believe that I came through - Glory to GOD - What just one blessed hymn can do -
Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side. Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain. Leave to thy God to order and provide; In every change, He faithful will remain. Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake To guide the future, as He has the past. Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake; All now mysterious shall be bright at last. Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know His voice Who ruled them while He dwelt below.
Be still, my soul: when dearest friends depart, And all is darkened in the vale of tears, Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart, Who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears. *Be still, my soul: thy Jesus can repay From His own fullness all He takes away.*
Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on When we shall be forever with the Lord. When disappointment, grief and fear are gone, Sorrow forgot, loves purest joys restored. Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past All safe and blessèd we shall meet at last.
Be still, my soul: begin the song of praise On earth, believing, to Thy Lord on high; Acknowledge Him in all thy words and ways, So shall He view thee with a well pleased eye. Be still, my soul: the Sun of life divine Through passing clouds shall but more brightly shine.

What a word to the soul.
Is there any other more meaningful experience, nore fuller reward, more of a finality in all our travels with God, then having this experience of being in Christ, and having Christ in us? I can't think of one! We may lose houses and health, but we never need to lose our closeness to Christ!
There are many books, sermons, and songs about correct "doing"for Christ. This beautiful hymn is about simply "being" in Christ. Ahh to find and know rest in Jesus. These words come as close as humanly possible, to describe the what cannot be imparted with words...yet can be fully imparted in Christ himself to all of us.
Holy Ghost tears indeed dear sister!
You're sincereity and realness is a blessing to me, and I know to all of us here. Please feel encouraged to continue such edifying posts as these. They mean so much to me as a moderator, and as a brother. They are like a glass of delicous spring water!
Blessings,
Mike

| Re: | | Many Blessings back to you, Brother Mike.
I always leave those astericks on those last two lines for a very special reason. When I was a prisoner in my own home and going through more than I could tell, I found this hymn and emailed it to my Pastor who had not that long before, come into my life and carried my burden with me. He emailed back just those two lines. I wish I had that email, but it was lost when that computer died, but I'll never forget what just those two sentences spoke to both he and I. He knew everything that I was living through at that time, so for him to send back just those two lines and a few words of his own was actually prophetic and very strengthening for me. He was the PCA Pastor I've talked about, that I called "Admiral". He basically saved my life when I met him, not that many years ago - but he also was instrumental in getting me far from where I was living - so I miss him and his wife and that church deeply and I owe them my devotion and love forever.
Well, anyway - I listened to her again tonight and to "Oh Holy Night" about 5 times. Glad I bought extra tissues :)
I wanted to share that, in the comment section, I only found one reply from her to a poster that left this comment -
"May God show you the light: The truth is One God and no other human being is worthy of worship. Jesus never claimed to be God. Yet he brought the same message as Abraham, Moses and all other propehts which is "God is One". Let's not commit the greatest sin by making a messenger equal to god. GOD IS ONE. Glory be to him and peace be upon Jesus, the Mesiah, the son of Virgin Mary the true messenger of God."
Her reply back to him seemed a bit rough or out of character, but actually not :) She's got some jealous-love going here. From 2 yrs ago -
"Jesus in Mathew 9:1 said to the Paralytic man, "Take heart son; your sins are forgiven". John Chapter 1:1 In The beginning was the Word, and The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Don't forget it said "the Word was God" Vers 14 from the same Chapter. The Word became flesh..You will probably ignore this, because you don't believe in the Scriptures from The Holy Bible, so if you don't, we have nothing in common."
GOD Bless her :)
Brother Mike, you said, "We may lose houses and health, but we never need to lose our closeness to Christ!"
GOD Bless you for saying this and for your responses to this thread. It's brought joy to share the gift of this wonderful Sister with a Family Member. Thank you from my heart.
