| Re: | | You know what I find puzzling?!
I find it puzzling that more people seemed to be concerned with tongues than they are with the Gospel! Go look at how many people responded and view the topic: Do you know what the Gospel is. There are more posting here debating on the issue of tongues than there are on the Gospel. Shame! We should be talking about it and finding ways on how to explain it clearly and effectively to a dead world and a dying church!
Is not the Gospel the POWER OF GOD?!! If that be the case, should we not be giving emphasis on the Gospel than arguing tongues?
It's Christ's Gospel, defend it!

| Re: | | welcome robertsj,
I'm sorry you feel about this thread the way you do but haven't you noticed the majority of the last several posts.
No one is arguing over tongues really! The gospel is the power of God and those Apostles spoke in tongues!
Blessings to you! |

| Re: | | Approved,
I'm blessed by your testimony and glad to see you came out of the UPC with a good relationship with the Lord and also glad to see He has healed you from so much abuse.
Want to comment some more later about something you mentioned on one of my posts.
Blessings to you! |

Welcome!
This thread has actually been a breath of fresh air! I praise God for it because common ground was found between brothers, a sister poured her heart out, others swooped in to encourage her... this IS the gospel, my friend.
Perhaps there were not too many people talking on the "gospel" thread because...
a) most probably saw the title and thought "of course I know what the gospel is"... and moved on. I know thats true for me. I come here to explore controversial issues that I have questions within myself about. I dont have time to read threads about things that I already know about, ya know? If the thread was about something else then whoever started it should consider a different title.
b) Most of the people who come here are more serious minded believers. Not many followers of Joel Osteen or Benny Hinn come here. People come to discuss theology, not the latest Christian fads. Therefore... there wont be much discussion or debating on a thread called "Do you know what the gospel is" because most people here already know what it is. What is there to discuss or debate? We're all pretty much in agreement on the gospel with the exception of a few people on the fringes.
But again, this thread has been awesome and I have really been blessed by. Praise God!

| Re: | | Sir/Maam
I absolutely believe that the Apostles spoke in tongues (glossa) and I do not dispute the gifting. I am simply noticing that people will argue, discuss, debate, etc. and want to focus on this topic than on the Do you know what the Gospel is topic.
Thank you Krispy and greetings, I stand reproved, rebuked *exorted*. |

I have really enjoyed your posts also and the realization that we agree more than we previously thought. I hope you the best in your pursuit of God to the fullness of your inheritance in Christ Jesus.
Blessings

| Re: Evidence of Genuine Belivers Speaking in Tongues before 1900? (HELP!) | | There a few people on here that I would have liked to comment to privately without having to post on here (lest it continue to hijack this thread past the 11 pages).
So, my reason for even posting in this thread is to encourage everyone who doesnt have an email posted on sermonindex to go ahead and get a secondary email from the following places (below). It would help us all tremendously if there were emails posted, in case you fear giving too much information, you dont have to be; I do not use my full name on the one that I have posted, if I return an email from you, it will show Lisa R.
